If you're interested in "fringe" science, like researching ghosts, UFOs, and cryptozoology, and you're looking for a place to discuss and learn more about these topics you've probably discovered that most communities are either dominated by true-believers, who will show you a piece of lint and explain how it proves bigfoot is real, or by hardcore skeptics who dismiss as worthless any evidence short of three simultaneous videos from divergent angles showing the same flying saucer gassing up at their local Exxon station.

Those sorts of extreme, inflexible (and sometimes obnoxiously loud & repetitive) points of view are just absolutely unhelpful to those of us who'd actually like to know for sure whether there is validity to any of these many phenomena, so this site was created as a haven for those who would like to have real, intelligent conversations and maybe come away having our preconceived notions challenged, our suspicions confirmed, or learning something entirely new every once in a while.

The primary articles on the site are written by volunteer editors, but are open to extensive discussion by anyone who has something to contribute to the conversation. If you want to discuss a topic that our editors haven't written about yet, check out our forum where anyone can start their own topic.

This site is (largely) dedicated to skeptical fanship of the Syfy channel's reality series: Ghost Hunters. This show follows the travels and experiences of TAPS, The Atlantic Paranormal Society. I would like to say up-front that this is not a TAPS bashing site. There will be criticism, yes, however that criticism will be qualified and based in fact. If we stray from that, feel free to point it out — however there are no fanboys allowed and no condescension or insults permitted. The idea is to have a reasoned discussion, not a flame war.
