It looks geological to these untrained eyes. And the "impact trail" looks like a debris field from erosion. But what would I know.

The other thing that bugged me was the premise of the story. I posted the title as they gave it, but when you think about it, this is just another case of a term having it's meaning changed incorrectly. UFO found on ocean floor. An Unidentified Flying Object found on ocean floor. If it's on the ocean floor it sure isn't flying. It's seeming more and more that UFO has lost it's original meaning and has come to mean an Identified Alien Spaceship.
Yes, very good chance that this is a natural phenomenon on the sea floor. I hope someone verifies it and doesn't leave this as an open ended case.
