This is a very complicated phenomenon which, through Relativity, we know can happen even if only on very small time scales. What I've been experiencing though in the last few days has been taking place on much greater scales and definitely noticeable without having to bring in timepieces based upon the Radioactive Decay of elements.
It seems in the last few days whenever I click a link or button on this site, I experience a time shift of many seconds before anything happens. Sometimes it's even as if the click didn't take place and I'm forced to try again. And again.
Has anyone else noticed this and is anyone interested in Co-authoring a scientific paper detailing this relatively new phenomenon?

Nosfer,
I sent a PM about a half hour ago. Not sure if you received it or not as it disappeared when I sent it and I haven't been able to get back on until just now.

BD50 – Yes, doesn't she look beautiful? Decided it was time she was treated to a spa day.
EDIT – Revenant, sent PM. Did you receive it? Still having problems with service.

Sorry all, I'll see what I can do. Unfortunately the site does run on a shared server so sometimes if another site on the server is getting hammered it slows everything down. I've been meaning to upgrade some of the site scripts though, so that might help speed things up a little.

No. And I haven't been able to send anything for about 5 or 6 days. Then again, I also upgraded a bunch of software and problems sprung up all over the place for me. I wasn't even receiving my "real" email for a while. I have to solve one more conflict and I "think" I'll be good to go, at least on my end. I'll start testing to see if I can send PM's again later tonight.

Thought that might be the case. Good luck fixing the problem. I need my points straightened out.

The full page add popup is the thing that bothers me the most. Only happens on this site and all the popup blockers in the Firefox world won't stop it.

I'll second that!
Response is a lot better now. Hopefully it continues.

Don't know, no one's sent me any (or if they did, then yes I'm having troubles LOL) I can get in and look at old ones, though.

When I got here this morning, there was a bunch of HTML at the top of the page and I have had problems with recent topic updates showing the new posts.

Hi Sheetie!
I think it's those darn ads. I keep getting them. I really wish they would go away but that's for the powers that be to determine and not me. I'm okay but there are others, like yourself, who are not. I think Logisti was working on other problems. Post if you still have problems so we can keep a log because it's the only way we will all know. Otherwise, we just assume it's an individual problem.
EDIT: Update on my previous post to Sheetie. Earlier today, while logged in, I got another ad flash on screen right after I posted in a thread. When I went to post again, immediately after the ad was skipped, I was no longer logged in. I have now had to log in today 3X after getting the ad. LOGISTI ??

I think I've found a way to stop the popups with Firefox, but it's drastic. Just click on an image on the page and choose block all images from skepticviewer… Unfortunately this also blocks avatars, icons, smileys and everything else with an image in it. These popups though are unacceptable. They are as bad as spyware.

Agreed Learjet and many thanks. But my problem is that I would miss all the times BD50 changes his avatar which would be a very sad day for me indeed! Thanks for the info. If it continues, I may just have to try it. I just wish these ads would be done and gone!

Hi Alicat!
Yes, those pop-up ads are annoying but I look at it as the price I must pay to enjoy this forum.
I do seem to be falling behind on much of my 'enjoyment' however as I have to click on every topic to see if I am missing anything new. After I hit the 'skip this ad' button, I seem to lose the markers for the "Most Recent Topics With Unread Posts".
If I seem to be out of the loop, you will know why.
