Ok, i’m willing to tell 2 stories about my nephew to see what people say.

he was very close to his dad. both were/are severe diabetics who shared many of the same life experiences. the 1st happened a year or 2 after his uncle died. my nephew was rushed to the hospital with extremely high blood sugar. he was awake when he went in, but soon slipped into unconsciousness. he says he suddenly saw a bright light and went toward it when he stopped due to seeing a black figure. though he never saw the face, he knew the voice. it was his father telling him to go back, it wasnt his time yet.

my nephew says after a few minutes, finally agreeing to go back, he suddenly opened his eyes to see his sisters, mom and a minister. the docs said to the family right before, they doubted they could bring him out since his sugar was so high. a week later he went and had a battery of tests cause the docs feared with such a high sugar, and already having diabetes for 13 yrs, damage had been done. surprisingly, there was no damage. my nephew said the last thing his dad said to him was “I wont let anything happen to you.”

2nd. my nephew needed a kidney transplant and there were no matches til his aunt, a very very religious woman who was not blood related, stepped up. a week before surgery her doc found – pardon the spelling – an aneurysm on her kidney. the hospital had never taken one off a kidney before but felt they could. during surgery my nephew said his dad stood beside him the entire time til surgery was over. as he walked away, my nephew said his dad turned and said “I told you before, I wont let anything happen to you.”

the next day they learned that the aneurysm was so thin that if she hadnt tested it would have burst without his aunt knowing and killed her. noone knew this til the kidney came out as it ruptured as soon as surgeon touched it. i’ve read the report.

the 1st thing skeptics might say is “well, they were close. course he came whether as a spirit or dream.” true but it was over 15 yrs in between events and other severe things happened to my nephew in between. and my nephew says though he can remember his dad’s voice, he forgot what it sounded like soon after his death cause his dad was so sick before he died.

so think what you will. but my nephew believes he saw his dad and he didnt believe in ghosts til then.

Hi Bill,

I think that it was great that came forward I hung back to see if anyone else would.  So now that you have told I will tell.

This happened to me when I was 14 years old.  I was raised pretty much by my grandmother and was living with her at the time.  We lived in a modest 2 bedroom apartment.  When you came into the apartment through the front door, you stepped into a hallway that ran the length of the apartment.

From this hallway you could go into either of the two bedrooms that faced the parking lot or the living room that faced the yard.  I guess what I am trying to tell you is that the hallway split the living space.

Once you moved into the living room, there was an immediate short wall (8 feet) on your right.  Along this wall was a chair that was right was positioned right at the open walk space even with the corner of the wall so your left side was exposed to the person coming into the room.  That short wall L'ed to the wall that contained the TV and stero.

I was at home by myself as my Nana worked night as a telephone operator for the C&P telephone company.  I had the stero headphones on listening to Don Kirschner's rock concert simulcasting Rod Stewart.  It was the height of Hot Legs mania and yes I am dating myself.

At around midnight as Don Kirschner came on at 11:30 Pm in the DC area, I was happily listening along to Rod when I felt what I thought was my Nana grab my left shoulder which was exposed to the walk way into the living room.

I could feel each finger pressing into the front of my shoulder and the thumb into the back of my shoulder.  I didn't think anything of it since I had the head phones on and assumed I didn't hear my Nana come in.  I thought to myself it is a little early (between 2:15 – 2:30 Am was normal) but sometimes she would take comp time and come home early.

I turned to look for her and she was not there.  I figure she went to her bedroom which was at the end of the long hallway which I could not see.  I got up and went to look for her and she was not there.  I checked my room the bathroom the closet opened the front door and looked out into the hallway.

I then thought well did I just not see her move past me, and checked the rest of the apartment. In fact I was alone in the apartment except for the unseen person that grabbed and squeezed my shoulder. I can remember thinking what the heck but not being scared or freaked out, but like wow that seriously just happened.

So that is my story and I have not told it to very many people because it is my story and I know what happened to me.  I felt ok about posting it here since while skeptical everyone here seems to be very nice about their opinions.

So go ahead and pick away and think what you will.  My own brother does not believe me because he is an absolute non-believer.  I know what happened to me, someone was there with me that I could not see and they grabbed and squeezed my left shoulder.

And Bill thank you for giving me the courage to go second. :)

I am very glad that your nephew feels blessed and not alone, that is what we all hope.  Yes that was a profound experience for me and I can remember it like it was yesterday only it was 31 years ago.

Is no one else willing to post a personal experience?  It can't just be myself and Bill.

This story Robbin told reminded me of something that
happened when I was alone at a one bedroom apartment I shared with my brother
when I was 17. I was doing the dishes and listening to a CD (Bon Jovi’s Crush),
I had just bought that same morning. My brother was at school and I was waiting
for a friend to arrive. It was after lunch.

You know when you fell some one has just walked into the
room? I had that feeling so strong, I was certain my brother had forgotten something
and came back. I didn’t even thought of it, I just began to talk, as if he was
there. Asking him why he came back, I had no answer.

I turned the stereo off and went to see if there was somebody
in the apartment (very small, only four rooms), but there was no one. Still,
there was the feeling of somebody being there. I tuned the stereo on and went
back to the dishes. As I was washing the plates, I wandered “if there was
something there, would I want to see it”? I remember thinking “I guess I should
ask for a proof of it being here”. The moment I thought it, the music skipped.
I jumped so high, I throw soap all over the kitchen.

When I cooled down, I went to check the CD. It was new, the
first time I was listening, so if it had a scratch or something I would
exchange it, but it was perfect, and the music played perfectly as well. It was
only that once. The funny thing is that I did not ask for proof, I was just
thinking.

Anyways, I finished the dishes and the door bell rang. It
was my friend. The weirdest thing of all was that, as soon as she walked into
my house, the first thing she said was “It’s such a heavy environment here,
today”.

It’s amazing how she felt it right the way! It was only this
one time. I lived in that apartment for 2 years, and never again I or anyone
else felt anything.
