Spooked,
They are being sincere. Logically sincere. I think you are posting on the wrong site if you are looking for "Oohs" and "Ahhs" to your experiences. Your posts ask if these experiences can be debunked and that's what they are trying to do for you. Everything can be debunked in one way or another. If you don't want your experiences to be dissected, maybe you shouldn't post about them. I haven't posted about my experiences for this very reason. :) Hope this helps you understand.

I'm one for "dissecting" – it's my nature.
That didn't stop me from posting my experiences, and IMHO shouldn't stop you from posting yours.
I know people think I'm nuts – especially about the ouija board – but I know what happened so it just doesn't matter. There are 3 possible options there: I'm lying, I was hallucinating, or it happened. I'm not, I wasn't, it did.
I WANT to believe, I WANT to see evidence – I know there's something out there! That doesn't stop me from being skeptical – there's too much bunk out there – but…
Please don't hesitate to share!

I don't know how you define the term "sincere" – but gtom my reading the responses you've gotten have BEEN both sincere and respectful.
Nobody here is going to say "OMG! GHosts!!" — it's just not going to happen.
That's it in a nutshell. Imagining what might cause a strange occurence is fun, but the purpose of this site is to do our best to realistically determine what did cause a strange occurence, and that means under most circumstances folks here are going to go to the "unimaginative" potential conventional explanations first, and only entertain more "imaginative" possibilities when the conventional explanations have been thoroughly ruled out.

Thank you. You are very welcome here but please don't be rude to people who are giving serious thought to your questions and offering you their honest opinions.
but couldn't those serious thoughts be more sincere or am i on the wrong website for sincerity?how about using the imagination w/ their honest opinions? is that possible. i've been through a number of websites that i dropped because people were annoying and using too much shorthand cursing. spooked

If you're determined that what you think you experienced was paranormal, you're not likely to find validation here. If you're looking for alternative explanations, there's no better place.
HTH…

i thank you for the answer. there is no way you can be sincere w/the paranormal. i've been through too many negative experiences in my life and i need to keep them separate from this website. i didn't mean to be offensive and will have a better understanding in the future. your friend, spooked.

Hi Spooked,
I am not sure what you mean by this. The bottom line is most people on this website look to scientific exlanations for reasons to unexplained events. Myself too, including an event earlier this month with my fiance and even an event in my earlier life as well (see other posts). Yes I have no explanation at this time but I don't jump to the conclusion that it was a ghost, or aliens at the snap of a finger either.
We are not saying supernatural doesn't exist, but we are not the kind to say "well that was strange, it must have been a ghost" without a little more evidence. I, speaking for myself, want to believe. But my scientific side forces me to review all possibilities before conclusion.
I hope you can apreciate that. If not, then nothing anyone says on this site will satisfy you.

Maybe you were not really awake and you were dreaming?
i was fully awake.
In a diagnostics class for psychology, we were taught to rule out any 'experiences' (ie, hallucinations, feelings, etc.) that took place within 10 feet of the bed. This was a bit tongue in cheek, but my professor's point was sound – it's hard to know whether you are fully awake or not.
