Unfortunately, Psychic Kids is now filming a second season. Chip currently filming and announced via Twitter: "We are taping an episode of Psychic Kids this weekend in the Poconos near the NY/PA border."
I will add this: Chip Coffey's educational background has been questioned. He claims to have a bachelor's degree from Elmira College and a Master's in Counseling. Funny, but Elmira College does not offer a Masters in Counseling and never has. Now, it is possible that he received his Masters elsewhere. Chip will not divulge where he received it.
This time, I will not post anonymously.
"I refuse to disclose personal or professional information that has absolutely no bearing whatsoever on the work that I do. No amount of petty badgering or harassment will make me choose to do otherwise." http://www.theskeptoidzone.com/2008/07/skeptics-attack-coffee.html
Oh no. This is going way beyond the bounds of moral responsibility towards children. If A & E won't listen, maybe their advertisers will. Hit the money button.
Sorry, Chip, but you are practicing counseling and I don't believe you have the right to do so. C'mon and prove it. If you do have your masters, you would not have any reason to want to hide where it is from.
When I was able to get on the SciFi boards before they revamped their website, Chip was posting about his abilities; well bragging, actually. I presented a challenge to him to tell me what event recently occurred that was extremely upsetting and depressing to me. I never heard from him, and soon after he stopped visiting the forum.
On the Elmira College page on Wikipedia, Chip is listed as a graduate:
Chip Coffey – A psychic and parapsychologist who has speaking tours with Patti Starr.
However, this probably refers to his Bachlors Degree. As you state, the Masters may have been obtained elsewhere.
Nobody exists in a vacuum. Chip can run but he can't hide. "What one person knows, another can discover."
Start with the name "Chip Coffey". I doubt if it was his birth name. At least the first is probably a nickname. Some records of their very nature are public and there are some good sleuths out there.
I cannot stand this arrogant BSer. SHAME ON A & E

He only lists his BA on his official resume. Elmira College, Elmira, New York, Bachelor of Arts, 1976 Theater Arts major http://www.imdb.com/name/nm1368465/resume
Now that he is back in the South, not only is he "great-grandson of famed Native American medicine woman Minnie Sue Morrow Foster (He is also distantly related to General Robert E. Lee and Thomas Coffey, an actor who performed with Edwin and John Wilkes Booth.)"
http://www.chipcoffey.com/presskit.html
This was posted on the IMDb Board just three days ago: “Maybe you can find out where Chip got his "advanced degree" from that he claims he has but won't say from what college. There's NO evidence of anything paranormal on Psychic Kids or Paranormal State. It's a sideshow tv network selling advertising.”

My favorite part:
"When researching your "advanced psychology degree", I contacted your speaking agency under an assumed name and said I wanted to set up one of your lectures at my local university. I used an assumed name because I knew that when presented with mine, you or your representatives would clam up. This is a common practice in investigative journalism for obvious reasons. I asked your agency about the degree you claimed to have, and they told me you wouldn't divulge where it came from. I told them I thought this was weird, and the particular person I was communicating with agreed."
Hey, and I have quotes!
YOUR POOR AGENT: In terms of his education, Chip prefers not to have the schools mentioned, although you can say he has an advanced degree in Psychology.
ME: It's been kind of a traditional policy, though, to credit all degrees mentioned in promo materials. I don't know if that's written in stone or anything, and I could probably just leave out any reference to a psychology degree if so. But personally speaking, it seems kind of weird.
YOUR POOR AGENT: I called Chip yesterday with your questions, and he told me he doesn't give the name of his graduate school because he has had some invasion of privacy issues with people contacting old classmates and professors. I thought it seemed a little weird too, but as he is not an academic, but a paranormal investigator, I didn't think it mattered that much. I would suggest just leaving it out.
The most Chip could prove was that he had been called a "slime bucket". His excuse is sooo lame for not wanting to list where he got his Masters. Doesn't have a problem with his BA? Nope, cause he lists people he went to Elmira with. Got a hypothetical: Your a parent of an under aged child who feels the kid is having trouble because they are psychic. You want help. Sign up to put junior on Psychic Kids, because hey, good ol' Chip has a Masters in Counseling, so no harm should come to letting him interact with your child. Legal question: If Chip doesn't have said degree, wouldn't that open A & E to a lawsuit?

….he doesn't give the name of his graduate school because he has had some invasion of privacy issues with people contacting old classmates and professors.
That's weird of him because one can go on IMDB and other like sites and learn where most popular actors have received their education. It doesn't seem to concern them that this information is out there for public viewing.
Just another indication that all is not right in the Land of Coffey.

Exactly. Why not list it on IMBd? I do not think he thought it would be questioned. He himself listed it, so he can't say there was a misunderstanding, etc. All he can do at this point is duck the question and hope it goes away. According to his twitter, he now has a book deal.
I do not think A & E, publishers, anyone that can make a percentage off him really cares one way or the other what his credentials are.
Also, I wonder if A & E tells the children in Psychic Kids, this is for entertainment purposes only. I would not feel so angry, if behind the scenes, Chip introduces himself and says, "Hey, nice to meet ya kid, I am not a counselor, I do not have an advanced degree in psychology. You understand we are making this show just for fun right?"

Woo Hoo!
I was looking at Chip's Twitter, and he is going to be a personality at Through The Veil-a paranormal and metaphysical gathering in Atlanta. http://www.throughtheveil.org/index.html
Chip and others are under the Metaphysical. I did not realize there were so many different types of mediums, psychics, clairvoyants, and things I had never heard of–DNA Activation?.
Ericka Boussarhane, professional psychic medium, author, radio personality, and cold-case psychic. From her site you can click and check out her Twitter. She sent message that baffled me: "i found a awesome way to find lost people. 123people.com"2:55 PM Apr 12th from web http://twitter.com/Psychicmediums
If your psychic do you need a people finder?

I am surprised that no one mentioned that his BA is in Theater Arts!! Unless he minored in something remotely resembling psychology, I can't imagine any graduate school taking him in for a masters in counseling. Unless of course, the school is imaginary.

Ok…a blast from the past…
I forgotten that I had written that. At the time, the paranormal community was really on the war path against skeptics. You know, the typical "skeptics deny this, mock that and drink 'hater-rade' by the gallon." I was hoping to show that many skeptics who take a close look at the paranormal aren't just unfeeling robots without their own personal experiences. For many, it is our personal experiences (or those of others that are close to us) that cause us to seek information and to look at various things in a critical fashion in order to learn more about it.
I think that, our own personal experiences, and the fact that skeptics are extremely well-versed in the paranormal (ghosts, ufo's, cryptozoology, psychics, witchcraft, etc)…are the two biggest misconceptions that "believers" have about skeptics. "They haven't been through it and they don't know anything about it." If ones reads the many threads throughout SV, this is simply not the case. So that's why I wrote this and my other experience about the tiny man on the ceiling…
In any event, thanks for the sentiment. Oh…and thanks for bringing this thread back on track. Not sure how it go so derailed, then again…sometimes that's just how it goes.
EDIT: spelling snd providing the correct link this time… :D
PS Notice how I spelled "and" after spelling? *sighs*

It was a great read and heartbreaking to hear the outcome. I'll take a read to the other link, personal experiences are some of the best reads on here. And I agree with the skeptical part. I too wanted to be a such a believer that before I signed onto this site for the first time, I may have been in the skeptic hater category, I just watched the shows and believed everything I read. The first thing that really shocked me was the doctored FLIR and I went from there on here. So glad I found this site, and I used to think GA was a great show (as far as finding evidence) , I am rather ashamed of myself
Edit: I am not a good speller
