Hopelessly Locked In A "Fear Cage"

Lead Investigator

Recently, a friend of mine asked me to check out some weirdness on a new episode of Paranormal State.  I knew that they had started a new season, I just haven't watched any of it.  Mainly…because the show is dreadful.  Also, they changed from Tuesday to Sunday and Sunday is much too strong (The Walking Dead, Family Guy, and the Sunday night NFL game) for PS's foolishness.

So, it's been quite some time since I've been to the PS website (which I'll link in a moment).  They've changed it up, it looks nice.  They have an interactive map like "Destination: Truth" has.  I like that.  Makes finding things much easier, at least for me.  Since I haven't seen the show in some time, I wanted to check out their line-up.  Looks pretty much the same as past seasons, except for Chip Coffey.  I'm not sure if he's still on PS, or if he's considered a "guest" as opposed to a "member" or if he's just on that horrendous "Psychic Kids (or whatever it's called)" show.

(Side-note: That reminds me that I never got around to making those Chip T-shirts that I wanted to.  A picture of Chip with ping-pong balls taped to his eyes with the caption of "I See Dead People!" *For Entertainment Purposes Only*  Sure…I'd be sued or whatever, but still…pretty funny…anyway…)

Looking at the line-up list, I noticed that Michelle Belanger was now considered a member.  She is the very tall psychic, almost always dressed in black, that has often been seen on the show.  I looked at her bio and…found something quite interesting:

http://www.aetv.com/paranormal…..chelle.jsp

Of course…I am referring to her being a "psychic vampire."  Um…ok then…

It goes on to say: "Psychic vampirism may seem like a dark gift to have, but Michelle seeks to demonstrate through her work that psychic vampires aren't all bad. Many, like herself, can harness their abilities for the greater good."  (mumbles…*the greater good*…a shout-out to the movie "Hot Fuzz.")

So, it appears that Ms Belanger has hit the paranormal trifecta.  She's a psychic, a medium, and a psychic vampire.  That is a bunch of unproven stuff going on there isn't there?  I see no difference in someone telling me that they just saw a UFO beam down Bigfoot who then jumped on the back of a Mothman and flew off.  Like I said…a paranormal trifecta.

What exactly is a psychic vampire?  Well…depends on who you ask.  There seems to be many definitions.  Here's the obligatory Wiki link:

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/P…..ic_vampire

The direct origin of the psychic vampire is somewhat…shady.  Some people claim that there is evidence of this in very old mythology in different cultures.  Maybe.  Yet…I am wondering if this is more of a "revisionist" view, much like what the Ufologists love to do.  I am half-way curious about it.  I say "half-way" because I am curious about it…but not so curious as to look into it.  Much too lazy and far too little spare time.

In the "Modern Interpretations" Ms Belanger is spoken about.  It says:

"Others have defined a 'psychic vampire' in the more traditional sense. Michelle Belanger has written a book entitled The Psychic Vampire Codex, which defines a psychic vampire as a person, who, from limited ability or complete inability, are unable to generate their own "life force", and must feed off of others, not just as an ability, but as a necessity, to maintain their youth, beauty and vitality, lest they wither away."

Um…ok, then.  Unable to generate their own "life force?"  Um…yeah…I'm up for any interpretations on that one and how that would actually work in the "real world."

Wanting to find out more about this feeding…I went where anyone goes when they need information on psychic vampires….Psychic Vampires dot Org.  Of course…

So, here's a bit on the feeding aspect.  Please pay close attention to the "Tendril Feeding (my favorite)."

http://www.psychicvampire.org/…..eeding.htm

All this talk of psychic feeding had me concerned.  If only there was someone who taught a class in how to defend myself against these psychic attacks.  Oh wait!  There is!  Thank you, Ms Belanger/Psychic Vampire for the Greater Good (*the greater good*)…:

Scroll down to the "Psychic Self-Defense" class.  You can "learn how to defend yourself if you become the victim of a psychic predator."  Hmmm…I think I'd rather learn how to be a psychic predator.  I mean…you know…if I have a choice…

So…where does this leave us with Ms Belanger?  She's a paranormal triple threat.  But even with the psychic vampire thing (which I don't completely understand…)…I'd take that over the vanilla psychic/medium tag-team of craziness any day of the week.  You want to play psychic vampire because blood is "icky"…fine.  At least that's better than taking the hopes and fears of common people, grinding them up, re-packaging them and selling them back to the person for a profit like psychics do.  What psychics do isn't magical…it's criminal.  If any psychic ability is real…step up, get tested, and prove it.  Until then…it's just a sham…

Oh wait.  That's right…I'M now a psychic vampire too!  I've been draining your life force as you've been reading this unbearably long post.  So yeah…that's not boredom or resentment that you feel…it's me psychically feeding upon you.  And like always…prove that I'm not…

>:(=        (<— That's my angry psychic vampire frowny face)

Doesn't look like she's fed in a while then hahahhaha! Okay that was a low shot.

If PS had their way, we'd be back to burning witches. Or throwing them in the water to see if they float….

I had to laugh when I saw that.  It reminded me of the PS episode that almost broke my brain ( The Paranormal Renaissance and a Piano).  PS has always had a way of amazing me…for all the wrong reasons. Laugh

@ Ghaleon -  I can just see Chris Hansen pulling out a wooden stake and chasing the psychic vampires out on to the lawn.  Then again…do you even need a wooden stake for a psychic vampire?  I don't know what the rules are.  I would probably ditch the Vampire Killing Kit and go straight for the explosives.  I don't like to take chances…
