Apparently Paranormal State has filmed at least three episodes within the past year in New Jersey. Here's an article that was posted today in the Courier-Post. I think one of the things that scares me the most is the writer. I say writer because she is obviously a big fan of PS, so all thoughts of journalism (IMHO) are off the table with her.

Oubliette: Do you remember hearing anything about the details of the Clementon portion of her story?

Thanks alicat…though I must confess that I wasn't able to get all the way through the article. I pulled a "Jason" and had to leave the room at the statement "always awesome Chip Coffey"!

Nosfer: I have to agree with you. It took me three passes to finish it myself but I thought I should at least figure out why a South Jersey paper would carry the story until I came to the Clementon part. Clementon is about a half hour away from me and I've never heard this story before.

Yes, thanks for the link, Alicat.
Here's my favorite quote. She's refering to the Dollhouse episode; "I don't recall 'Paranormal State' dealing with clients' psychological issues to this degree before."
Um…what? So…PS is now getting credit for "dealing" with psychological issues? Are you kidding me? Watch "I Am Six" and "The Possession" and run that by me again…
Maybe Ryan's girlfriend should just cheer from sidelines and stop writing articles about them online…"the always awesome Chip Coffey"….please…

Once again, thanks to Alicat for another interesting article.
I am so tempted to email the writer of this article and set her straight on a LOT of things. Obviously she is infatuated with Chip–that tells you a lot right there.
Wonder if she would feel the same about PS dealing with psychological issues if she watched "I Am Six" parts 1 & 2. My hubby and I want to know when Ryan got his counselor's license. And another episode dealt with a suicide (like the Kentucky one) and people still going through an intense grieving process. That is a job for a grief counselor, not a bunch of wackos obsessed with demons.
It is true that NJ is being featured more often. As far as PS is concerned, part of the reason may be that I believe they are stil headquartered in Pennsylvania and thus nearby locations might save the show some money in travel expenses. But I doubt if Mark and Mark from Weird NJ would appreciate this kind of NJ publicity.
The fact that Ms. Gacser is so excited that the "Real Housewives of New Jersey" is going to air tells me a lot about her taste in TV viewing. 'Nuff said.

Whoa, whoa, whoa! Oubliette…you just posted something VERY thought-provoking. Isn't that exactly what Ryan is doing? Is he not practicing without a license? Do the people appearing on this show sign a contract that acknowledges that Ryan is not actually medically treating them? Thereby acknowledging that this is all for show?

Oubliette ~ if you do correspond with the writer, please post. As I said previously, it took me awhile to read the story. You are right about the travel expenses. I can't imagine they have a big budget so that would make perfect sense. And yes, her viewing tastes give one a hint of her preferences.
By the way, they must have picked up her story and ran it in the CP. I noticed her email address and it's not a CP address. Looks like the CP has sunk to new lows. Glad I don't pay for it.

After checking out Ms. Gascer's writings, it looks like she writes for a CP companion "paper". I found an artilce she wrote about GH last year. There is an extreme difference in the two articles. In one, she is fawning all over PS and Chip Coffey and in the other she writes about GH in a bland, oh-by-the-way, GH was filming here, article. Here's the link:

I had managed to finally get through her PS story before reading this one. I had to go back and check for myself that it was the same author! Fawning vs Bland is a good comparison/contrast! No 'spine-tinglings' no 'starting with a bang' no 'spirited' jokes. In short, no nothing. Except bias.

Ava Gascer has a website http://www.avagacser.com/
"I am a nationally published writer specializing in entertainment, celebrity interviews, concert reviews, and profiles of local residents. Click here to find out more!
For all your freelance writing needs, I'm available 24/7. Click here to contact me!"
Ryan can use her as his ghostwriter.
History Channel investigates the Jersey Devil Oubilette says: "I am so tempted to email the writer of this article and set her straight on a LOT of things."
She has a "contact me" on her website. If you decide to email her, I am with alicat, please share.

Hmmm, I don't wish to be over-critical here, but if I had any "freelance writing needs" I would most likely contact several people on this forum before contacting her.
Strike that, I'd contact many people here before contacting her…
Now that I figured out that…it's on to what exactly my "freelance writing needs" are…
