For my money the only paranormal show worth its salt is "Destination Truth", but that doesn't mean I won't consume new bits of spooky stuff like a bag of BBQ potato chips when it comes my way!

According
to The Hollywood Reporter Syfy will announce at Tuesday's upfront
presentation to advertisers in New York that it has picked up a trio of
reality series — "Haunted Collector", "Legend Quest" and "Paranormal
Witness" — to launch later this year. The series will join the net’s
growing cadre of unscripted hits, including "Ghost Hunters", "Destination Truth" and "Face Off", which was recently renewed for a second season.

"Haunted
Collector", a working title, centers on a family of renowned paranormal
investigators who spend their time tracking down haunted items. The
family then houses its collections — think guns, jewelry, paintings and
dolls — in its museum. The series, from Gurney Prods.' Scott Gurney and Deirdre Gurney,

Unscripted hits, eh?  Unscripted?

Some more info:  http://www.hollywoodreporter.c…..ity-169676

Legend Quest could be good for a laugh or two, sort of a Relic-like series.

Taken from TVGuide.Com –

Syfy network has unveiled its jam-packed 2011 lineup, which includes the premiere of the scripted ensemble drama Alphas.

The show, premiering in July, follows a team of ordinary citizens with extraordinary abilities.Warehouse 13Eureka and Haven are also slated to return in the summer.

Ira Steven Bahr named Alphas showrunner

"Our ambition in development is to push the boundaries of imagination, creativity, and story-telling," Syfy President Original Content Mark Stern said on Tuesday."We want to transport our audience with high-quality, thought-provoking experiences that allow them to explore the un-explorable, to believe the unbelievable, and to truly… 'Imagine Greater.'"

On the reality side, series greenlights include Haunted Collector, a paranormal investigation series focusing on haunted objects (premiere in June), rather than places; Legend Quest, which follows a real-life symbologist tracking down ancient mysteries (premieres in July); and Paranormal Witness, which tells the true stories of those who have lived through paranormal experiences (premieres in September). A new season of Hollywood Treasure will return in June.

Check out the rest of today's news

Elsewhere, the network is developing more than a dozen other series projects.

On the scripted side those include another Battlestar prequel, Blood and Chrome, set in the 10th year of the First Cylon War, as well as three half-hour comedies. They are Me and Lee, starring stars Lee Majors as a man who turns a 20-something, whose back surgery didn't go well, into a bionic man. In the Dark centers on a team of wannabe paranormal investigators. Three Inchestells the story of a man who is struck by lightning and is imbued with the power to move things with his mind — but only a distance of three inches.

Reality projects include: Culture Shock with Tommy Lee, where the rocker will attempt to uncover various rituals, symbols and mysteries of the secret societies around the world; Dinner with Deepakwhich will feature Chopra bringing together noteworthy guests to share a meal; Monster Man, a behind-the-scenes look at Cleve Hall's workshop as he creates some of Hollywood's bizarre film creatures; Stunts Unlimited, about the dangerous world of stunt men; and Hi Tech Hoaxes, a Punk'd-esque prank show.

There's also Tyler Shields, from Heroes star Zachary Quinto, a docu-series featuring the Los Angeles-based unconventional artist; Overthunk, a one-hour series that follows teams of creators who compete to design massive chain reactions; Change the Day You Die will use state-of-the-art technology to transport its participants into "the future" to see the face of their own demise and set them on a course to prevent it; Imagination Nation will showcase the inventors behind Hammacher Schlemmer, who go on the road to meet other inventors; and America's Smartest Kids, a competition show where the country's brightest children are challenged with inventing a better future.

Keira Knightley joins Syfy's Neverland

Heading into the holidays, Syfy will hold its Countdown to Christmas Week for a second year, highlighted by the TV movie Neverland, starring Keira Knightley as Tinker Bell. The network will also air holiday-themed episodes of EurekaGhost HuntersHaven and Warehouse 13.

Of all the new shows announced Haunted Collector sounds the most laughable. They just ripped off the plot of Friday the 13th: The Series. I wonder if Uncle Louis will be making any cameo appearances?

If Haunted Collector is the most laughable, then Dinner with Deepak is certainly the most eye roll worthy. From the official SyFy press release…"If you could invite three people to dinner, who would they be? Best selling author and spiritual teacher Dr. Deepak Chopra dines and joins in conversation with some of the greatest minds and creators in the world today. In every episode, Chopra brings together a group of noteworthy guests to share a meal and a conversation ranging in topic from the spiritual, political and scientific to supernatural, designed to challenge our standard conventions and push the boundaries of viewers' imaginations and intellects."

With SciFi I fear that we will all be looking back at the episodes of FoF as "the good old days of sane and intelligent programming."  Frown

SyFy's programing profile suggest one of the several dissociative disorders.

I vote for:

Dissociative Identity Disorder: " a condition in which a person displays multiple distinct identities or personalities…each with its own pattern of perceiving and interacting with the environment…often comorbid with other disorders."

Yeah…that is all I have to say.  It is an illness.

"THE TRAVEL CHANNEL was shooting at Eastern State Penitentiary late last week for a series called "Paranormal Challenge."

The show is hosted by Zak Bagans of "Ghost Adventures," which has already featured the famous lock-up, once home to mobster Al Capone. Bagans has called Eastern State one of the most haunted buildings in the world.

The local visit is expected to be among the first few episodes of the show when the series premieres in June."
