That has to be one of the strangest things I've ever seen. I have to admire them for sheer trippiness, but it actually makes my head hurt.

Stephen,

It certainly was out there.  If that was what they were trying to achieve, they certainly did that but I'm not sure it conveyed the message they were trying to achieve - imagine greater.  It just seemed like a lot of hodgepodge of special effects put to music.  One thing I was disappointed about was it didn't include a shot of Bobby Carlyle who is being touted as the new "star" of Stargate Universe.  I think he he finished filming in Canada in either March or April and went on to a number of other projects so I'm guessing he wasn't available or just didn't want to be a part of it all.  I'm still surprised he signed on for that series but I can't wait to see it.  He's one of my all time favorite actors.

I believe the brand change is effective on 7/7.  It will be interesting to see how this new promotion is received.

The 7th is the BIG premiere of Warehouse 13.
I think the show may have possibilities, I hope anyhow.

We've already seen it.  Except back then it was called "Friday the 13th."  So, instead of an antique shop, it's a government warehouse and instead of just "evil" antiques, they'll probably hit a wider range of the paranormal so they can include UFO's and Cryptozoology.  As for the agents…just from seeing the previews, they remind me of the couple in that "Bones" show.  She's smart and a bit cold.  He's a goof but brave.  Like yourself, Blinddog, I hope it's good too…but…I'm not holding my breath.

Rev,
I agree.
The plot does sound like Bones meets X-Files, but anything beats 24/7 coverage of Micheal Jackson at this time.
Being a fan of Fringe, I hope it rises to that level anyway.
Just an ex X-Files fanatic hoping for a show that holds your interest.

I watch "Fringe" as well.  My only concern is that the main character, Olivia Dunham, doesn't fall into what I call the "Anita Blake Syndrome."  Anita Blake is a vampire hunter in a series of books by Laurell Hamilton.  At first, it was kind of interesting, but the problem became that everything that she came in contact with, she kind of either gained that power or took something over.  Like if she met Superman, she would gain super strength and x-ray vision, but have no aversion to kryptonite and she would be in charge of The Hall of Justice.  The last few books that I read, I began cheering for the bad guys.  Laughing  Anyway, I just hope they keep Olivia grounded and "real."

As for the plot sounding like "Bones meets X-Files"…I'm going to disagree in a way.  To me, it seems more like "Bones meets Eureka" with just a gloss of X-Files.  The style seems much more like Eureka than X-Files.  Like yourself, I was hoping for an X-Files clone…just not sure that we're getting that.  And by the way, Eureka is starting up too.  I like the show and all of the characters.  They did a good job.  Well, except for the Sheriff's sister.  I could do without her.  Smile

Don't forget to party! Today's Siffy day!

Wiki'ed Warehouse 13.
Listed as a dramedy. Whatever that is. Guess it's funny misery.
Says it's part X-Files, part Raiders of the Lost Ark, and part Moonlighting. Moonlighting?!
Rutt Row!

Well, I watched Warehouse 13 tonight.  I also saw that new promo video too.  Did I see Jason and Grant playing chess while ghosts were passing by them?  I am more likely to believe everything that I see on Ghost Hunters than I am in believing that Jason and Grant sit around and play chess…

Warehouse 13…well…it's going to win the time slot for me.  It's almost a default win since nothing else is on at this time of year.  It was pretty much everything that I expected, which is kind of disheartening in a way.  The dynamics between the two main characters is ok, but not as well done as the show "Castle."  The set-up is a little confining.  The "super-secret" aspect will limit the show to "go there, get that, endure the craziness, come back" type of a thing.  Hard to incorperate different types of characters.  When do they introduce the obligatory "bad guys" trying to get the same objects?  Third show or fourth?  Or will they save it for near the end of the season?  Because no matter what…you know that they're coming…

On the positive side…the Tesla Ray Gun!  Always a given on my Xmas (which I never get…"you'll poke your eye out!").  Um…and they're not afraid to get graphically violent…always a plus.

Overall…yeah, sure…I'll hitch a ride on the "Pseudoscience Express" as it rolls through every kooky, paranormal stop.  Because of course, not being able properly study unusual artifacts and instead having them tucked away in some government warehouse is a scientists' dream.  No, wait…no it's not… Undecided

Revenant,

It was sort of fitting that they were playing a "game" while the ghosts flew by wasn't it?  Sort of a metaphor for their show.  Wink

Saw the first hour of Warehouse 13 as well.  It wins the time slot here by default as well.  The acting seemed very awkward like they were at a table read but maybe it was just they were unfamiliar with the direction.  Maybe it will take time for everyone to gel but it seemed stiff.  All that being said, nothing else was on until our early news came on at 10:00.  So, after taking the dog out and I was assured there was no more Jackson coverage, I switched to the news.  I just couldn't get through it.  Hope next Tuesday is better or I'll be asleep very early.  I'm just waiting for "Leverage" to start it's second season next Wednesday on TNT at 10:00 p.m.  They are airing an old episode tonight to get started.

I thought the show was ok.
It might get better as character development goes on.
Could use a little less eccentric behavior by the warehouse guy Artie.
Probably make a good hour show and I know they needed a two hour premiere to introduce characters, but they were starting to lose me into the second hour.
Need better supporting cast, the b/f, g/f and the lawyer were snoozers.
Liked Lena and the professor(now dead).
CCH Pounder, never have liked her acting, period.
She reminds me of Nick Gage, always the same type character, Nick Gage playing Nick Gage.
I'll watch or dvr it every week, so maybe when it drops to an hour format it'll be better.

I usually say that someone has gone to the John Cusack School of Acting.  Play the same character in almost every film (except The Grifters).  Other graduates include Owen Wilson, Vince Vaughan, and Mathew McConaughey.  You've got the same dialogue, same cloths, same hair style, same everything.  Is it even really acting if you're essentially playing yourself in every role?

Anyway, Warehouse 13 begins its string of 1 hour shows tonight.  You know, I've been thinking about the show.  I think they made a mistake with the warehouse itself.  It should have had more people to start with.  Maybe they will add more as the show continues.  I mean, one guy to run that entire place?  Why pass up such an opportunity to add rich and interesting characters into the background?
