I'm not sure if this is the same group that was going to be "Paranormal Cops", I never did see that show pop up on A&E, but here is a "Special" show that is going to air 2 episodes, I guess to test the waters and see if television can stand yet another Paranormal show. These guys claim not to run in fear, etc., even to the point of burying a member alive at an investigation. Here is the promo from A&E as well as the link.
In "Extreme Paranormal," irreverent paranormal explorers Shaun, Nathan and Jason investigate chilling local legends, attempting to seek the truth by provoking spirits. Unlike other paranormal investigators, they put themselves directly in harm's way – taunting ghosts, summoning the dead and daring the demonic to attack.
"Extreme Paranormal" gives rabid paranormal fans the ride they've always wanted: the chance to follow a team that dares to challenge legends, curses, and hauntings by actually attempting to provoke paranormal activity. These guys have spent the last ten years kicking sand in the face of ghosts across America. Every Sunday at midnight, they recount their latest mission on their popular radio show "Ghostman and Demon Hunter."
While other paranormal investigators keep the spirit world at arms-length, our guys lack that part of their DNA that tells other investigators to "be afraid" and run away during intense encounters. The team has developed a bring-it-on mentality when it comes to their explorations.
Whether or not this turns out to be a decent show, I don't know, but I thought it interesting enough to let our team of skeptics loose on it, but beware, I already saw a K-II meter in the promo! OH NO!
Also, I don't know if it's the Paranormal Cops mentioned in another topic, I will browse it and see if any names sound familiar. If so, sorry, but at least we know if it is or not a show previously talked about in the forum.

Is it just me, or does this sound a lot like Ghost Adventures without the "lockdown" aspect? Well, I guess not, what with the "we don't run away screaming like little girls" business…an obvious (and funny!) poke at GA by these guys!
Glutton for punishment that I am, I've already set the DVR to be a-tapin'!

Think this is going to be another in a series of forgettable shows. Apparently this "show" emerged from a podcast called "The Ghostman and the Demon Hunter" and they added a third "funny guy" to the cast. Can you see where this is going? They advertise themselves as " Shock Jocks of the Supernatural – Paranormal Bad Boys – Where Ghost Hunters go when there's nothing on TV!" Oh no!
Here's some background info from an ad:
"The Ghostman—Shaun Burris, a blue collar ghost hunter for over 10 years and Nathan Schoonover—AKA the Demon Hunter, a paranormal investigator and counselor for almost 15 years, wanted to bring you two things: the big names in the paranormal community the way they got to see them behind the scenes, and the groups and investigators out there in the paranormal trenches. Thus the Shock Jocks of the supernatural were born."
Hey, they even have a crew member who they advertise as "Just your Average cryptozoologiest and Oracle".
Guests on their podcasts have included Chip Coffey, John Zaffis, Syd Schultz and Loyd Auerbach as well as themselves. (Note the connection with TAPS in their podcast guests and in their "friends" section.)
Question, why do all these groups take the same stance in their pictures? Their badge of honor? Just replace the faces, they're all the same.
Sorry, this is not going to be high on my "To Do List". Same old, same old. Ugh!

alicat, I suspect you're right. But I'm just sick (and bored) enough to watch! Honestly, at this point, I've given up hope of the emergence of any kind of "serious" group that really wants to scientifically prove or disprove the paranormal. I'm sure they are out there, but sadly, there seems to be no place on television for them right now.

I get where you are coming from. I'm just getting tired of every network wanting their piece of the pie although I understand the need for revenue. Guess I'm tired of contributing and can't tell the difference between when one starts and one stops. As I said, even the pictures are interchangeable. Yikes!
Have fun watching and if you see something different, let me know. I'm open for a new experience.
I want to know why all these guys have to be so belligerent? Where is the ghost hunting manual that says you have to be a jerk to find out why things go bump in the night?

Holy crap, is anyone watching this?Just went through the first half hour at the penitentiary and they are using blood rituals and conjuring symbols, light the place on fire, and then take a grinder and cut a couple bars from one of the cell doors permanently damaging it.I’ve never seen an investigation crew do actual damage to a location. Are these people for real?Pretty pathetic in my humble opinion.
Well, watched the whole thing and I want my 60 minutes back. These guys would make Jay and Grant blush. When the diver was screaming that something was pulling his leg, was it wrong for me root for the ghost?
Saw that too. Just shook my head. Have to admit, I was rooting for whatever it was and I only watched a few minutes. When you find out how to get back that 60 minutes, let me know. I want back my measly 4!
Au contraire, darkeyes, these guys are Jay and Grant's bastard children. Why blush, J/G, be proud of what you've spawned. GH began sliding down the chute right after its 1st year of surprise tube success- EP is the pile of garbage accumulated at the bottom of the chute. And the slide's not over yet- if ratings are high enough, EP will continue the dragdown & become a new, even lower standard for reality show paranormal "investigations."
One thing all these shows, including grandaddy Ghost Hunters, are rapidly proving is that paranormal investigating "as seen on tv" has virtually nothing to do with investigating paranormal sites out in the real world, onscreen use (or misuse) of the latest tech toys notwithstanding.
EP strikes me as having a lot in common with WWF. Remember Roller Derby? With them, too. Paranormal investigation was ill-respected before GH & its bastard offspring came along. That's only grown worse not better, despite all the self-promotion, PR stunts, costly "come along for the thrill ride" ghost hunting with the fans, Dragon Con appearances, books, videos, etc, etc. Did I say "despite?" Make that "because of."
Learjet ~ From what I saw, if this show goes beyond the 6 weeks or so they contracted for, that will be the miracle. If you do not get this show, be glad, be very, very glad.
