Our Good Friend Giorgio has confirmed that Season 3 has been approved by the History Channel. Strap in! He also has said a few things about 2012 and the end of the world. He went up just a little, eensy, weensy, tiny, miniscule, barely perceptible tad in my book when he responded "Nothing will happen" and then elaborated a little saying that the biggest problem would probably be massive hangovers the next day.

Well, that's some great news to start the day. Apparently the show is pulling in enough viewers-believers or otherwise.
Seriously, I watch this show (or at least try to sit through it) because at times it is absolutely hilarious. Sometimes it makes me so angry that the survival of my TV screen is in jeopardy. One thing about it-it's almost always entertaining in various sorts of ways.
Guess we could do worse. Thanks (I think) for the update, Nosfer!

That's the thing about TV…they don't care if you hate the show or love it…if you're watching it, that's all that matters for them. Numbers don't mean the show is liked by lots, it just means people have tuned in to either oooh and ahhhh or to yell ancient Babylonian curses at the performers (May a drunk merchant crash his chariot into your ziggurat). It's all about the ad revenue that keeps the show going. They don't care if they sell a new Dodge to a believer or to a skeptic
That's also why I enjoy reading the comment from the occasional Drive-By (usually in the Review section) from the devout fan who goes on about "If you don't like it, don't watch it" It's probably as much because of those of us who are watching but don't buy into it that are keeping the show on the air (or in that long snaky thing that comes into our house) lol

I actually find Ancient Aliens the perfect soporific….especially in its 90 minute incarnation. Since I never make it through an episode and they are on "On Demand", I just start it up any time I want to sleep and wait for the magic to take place. Waking up to Dear Giorgio is a little disconcerting, though….
(In case this just sounds snarky…it is actually the truth. Ancient Aliens is just interesting enough to keep my thoughts from racing…but not believable enough for me to struggle to stay awake.)
