An Italian scientist claims to have reproduced the Shroud of Turin.  You can read the latest news here.

There is also news on the latest find in Wiltshire relating to Stonehenge which you can see here and here.

And yes, Revenant, I did find it on that favorite source. Wink

Reproduced…but does that truly debunk?

Seriously, though…it's an issue I have with a lot of the GH debunking, just because something CAN be reproduced, doesn't have to mean that a homeowner etc wasn't seeing that other 1%

True, it does not necessarily mean that they truly "debunked" it.  The way I read it was that they felt justified to make the claim because of the combination of their reproduction and the carbon dating from 3 separate labs in 1988 dating the shroud to be from between 1260 and 1390.  Still, it's taken this long to try to reproduce it and we've have a heck of a lot more people, equipment and the ability now then they ever had in the past.

Is there really hidden text to be found on the Shroud?  A new claim has been made and surprisingly a book has been written by a researcher at the Vatican archives.  Here's the link.

"I tried to be objective and leave religious issue aside," Frale told The AP.   "What I studied was an ancient document that certifies the execution of a man, in a specific time and place."

Ancient document – no problem.  Executed man – if authentic – okay.  Specific time and place – okay but by 3 separate facilities doing carbon dating – not the correct timing.

I have to applaud this comment:  "People work on grainy photos and think they see things," said Antonio Lombatti, a church historian who has written books about the shroud. "It's all the result of imagination and computer software."

Where have I heard that before?

Another shroud found…nothing like the Turin one, though:
