Okay, I know this link is to The Sun and frogs do change color as do other animals but check this link. I'd love to actually see this frog and am still trying to find a picture in the newspapers from India. The amazing thing that bothers me is this frog is being worshipped and no one is helping this guy to get the frog to eat. Instead, they are waiting for it to expire so that they can study it? Sad comment on humanity here on more than one level. http://www.thesun.co.uk/sol/homepage/news/2469396/Frog-that-changes-colour-worshipped-in-India-as-a-god.html

The wild color swings are probably because it's sick.

Thanks phillyk48. I just feel so bad for this little creature. Unfortunately changing color for survival in this case won't work. I'm guessing that's also why he isn't eating. Who the heck wants to put a frog in a bottle. I just don't know why he doesn't let the poor thing go other than the worshipping. How sad they will worship him until he passes and then some big university guy will "study" him. Wrong, wrong, wrong.

From the article:
"It seemed like a miracle to me that this frog had so many different coats. So now people come to see him and pray to him.”
How does that work exactly? A) Find frog in forrest. B) Tell people that frog changes colors. C) People come and pray to him. I'm not seeing how "B" gets to "C." And I'm unbelievably unclear on why there even is a "C." Yet…different country, different culture…I shouldn't judge.
As for Professor Oommen V. Oommen (which, by the way, is one of the coolest names ever…) from India’s Kerala University, he has another thing coming if he thinks he's going to "collect it for study." I'm not seeing the people coming to pray to it just giving it up to science. Yeah…that's not going to happen.

You would think someone would step in and save the frog.
I have sent an email to the Amphibians of India, "We contribute to conservation of amphibians through discovery and documentation of species", to see if they will be conducting studies, or know if an identified species.
