For the facts about frogs that change color, and it appears that many do, visit http://www.frogworld.net.  The "mysterious" changing of color throughout the day (for this type of frog) is due to a change in temperature.

ConstiB,

Thank you for posting this thread but obviously you missed the point I made in the thread I started.  I know frogs change colors for many reasons and many other animals as well.  Surprise!  I made excellent grades from grade school through college and I actually studied.  I also grew up in a rural environment and helped my sister study when she went to an Ag college to prepare for vet school.  She now works for a college teaching large animal studies and the U of P's New Bolton Center in Pennsylvania.  My point was that this should be a known fact and yet people were worshipping the frog as a deity.  In other words, a god and that they are now keeping that god in a bottle.  So, respectfully, learn to read the words that you see in front of you and don't make assumptions regarding something or someone you know nothing about.

How cute…you're writing in green, the traditional color of the frog.  I will write in green too then.

Thanks so much for the positive post!  Knowledge is power!  That's great!  You know what is also great?  Manners.  Perhaps…just perhaps…your very first post shouldn't insult every single person who post on this forum by telling us to "get an education."  I certainly can't speak for all, yet, I would have to believe that a few people around here might consider that rude.  Especially considering our levels of education.

As for Alicat's thread being based upon a "sensational tidbit," well, you mean like the one on the very website that you offered?  You know, the one about a seven year old girl marrying a frog to "prevent mysterious diseases in the village?"  I mean, you do read that website, correct?

http://frogworld.net/2009/seven-year-old-girls-marry-frogs/

So their website can run those "sensational tidbits" but we can't discuss those types of things here?

And, just so you know, it's usually best to simply post in the same thread to argue a point or to disagree with it.  Creating another thread just to challenge another post is generally not done here.  That is also considered rude, or at the very least…immature.

Lastly, thank you so much for setting us straight about our amphibian friends.  And yes, knowledge is power.  And good manners are always welcomed.  Please remember that the next time you post.

Revenant, you were very polite in your comments, and I completely agree with you.  Also, I had already posted a link to frogworld.net in my post but I guess Consti B didnt read the original thread to see that.

…and that'll do it for me. Sorry, Consti B, I wish I could give you a better welcome to the site, but this thread is rapidly spiralling downward. I'm locking it and reserve the right to delete it. If someone has a reason why FrogWorld is on topic for this board, please let me know.
