Thanks for the link Nosfer. Very interesting. Guess I may get my wish at some time in the future to live in many zip codes and I won't even have to pay movers to do it. 
Nice thought that we could try to build equipment that costs millions upon millions to engineer. Unfortunately, we will never be able to stop everything thrown at us. I opt for using the money to combat other things we are more able to control or cure but it is interesting.

That's interesting. Southern Sulawesi is right at the look angle limit for the NOAA satellite passes from my location on the east coast of Australia. I don't see any trails on my recorded passes but it would help to have a date and time in UTC.
I would have thought a 50 KT explosion even 20 miles away would have done damage?

"Missed it by that much" as Maxwell Smart would say. SE Sulawesi is at the extreme top left of the frame in this NOAA 18 pass at 0432 UTC. http://yfrog.com/0r10080432noaa1837wnj That's as close as I can get.
There's a streak there but I think that's just cloud.
