Well, it's not Champ but check out this animal. I had never seen one before. There are also a few interesting links in the article.

Very cool. But…I will see your Asian quatic deer and raise you an Asian creature that was recently discovered to literally build a life-size decoy of itself to fool predators. I'm all in…

You had to do the spider thing didn't you? Just what I wanted to see. I've gotten 2 spider bites this past week thank you very much. Once inside the house and once inside my car. I ended up in the doctor's office because of it. Maybe that's why I couldn't get through Warehouse 13 as I posted on the new SyFy video thread.
But, I'll see you one spider with a previously-undescribed sub-species of the Saddleback tamarin monkey from the upper Amazon Basin:

There is also a related link about 10 additonal new species but I love tamarain monkeys so that's my favorite.

Hold on there…I give you a spider that creates a life-size decoy of itself which is a behavior that is utterly so unique that it has never even been considered before…and you counter with a half pound monkey?
I win.
All jokes aside, the life-size decoy thing is pretty amazing. I enjoyed the article about the swimming deer. A while ago, I posted about the "drowning" spiders that came back to life. But the ability to create a decoy of itself is quite possibly one of the coolest attributes of a creature that I've ever heard. To think that no other creature in the animal kingdom, beyond man, can do that is "mind-bottling (reference to "Blades of Glory" there)."
And your two spider bites in the same week…they like you. They are just trying to make you one of them. Accept your rightful place in nature as "Queen of the Spiders." After which, think of all the fun that you could have when you meet Steve from GH…

Revenant,
Okay. I admit defeat. But you can't say that tamarin monkey wasn't cute. It's just hard to come even close to a spider that creates a decoy of itself. Yes, I agree that it is unique qualilty. That I don't even want to think of happening. I want to know that when I kill it, I actually killed it and not some decoy.
As far as the spider bites, I believe one I got in my ankle while sleeping the other I know I got in the car when I reached up to pull the seatbelt down. It apparently jumped onto my wrist from the top of the seatbelt mechanism on the side of the car but I wasn't quick enough to get it off. I think that's why I was so sick yesterday afternoon that the doctor's office didn't want me to drive. Of course I declined and drove home carefully.
No, I don't want that title at all. Can you imagine messing with Steve's phobias?
