I'm putting this one here just for laughs…obviously not experienced by me, but interesting anyway. Thought of as paranormal by some, very likely just normal.

http://www.telegraph.co.uk/scienceandtechnology/technology/google/5051309/Victorian-ghost-picked-up-by-Google-Street-View.html

A photo shows a woman "shimmering above the pavement" And a local medium even goes so far as to say "But what is really strange is that she doesn't appear as a full figure – you can't see all of her."

Look closely (well you don't have to look THAT closely) at the photo. There seems to be something quite wrong all around…as in a splicing problem with the photographs or Portions being blocked by the reflective surface of the top of Google's "Picture-Mobile".

Amazingly, the obvious problems with the photo are completely ignored by our Medium friend.

Well Nosfer, that was certainly an interesting article.  I agree there are obvious problems with the photo and then compound them with the mention of Dr. Who, Torchwood and the "medium's" statement, I think it's someone with a vivid imagination.  Maybe that's the real reason they are trying to ban the UK Google street view!

I loved the last line of the article though:  "The Google cameras have also captured a spooky ET alien figure in New Jersey, United States."   I think it's Jon Corzine!  (Okay, I would have said Dave Tango but I like him better than JC.)  Let's just say this, the alien better get out of NJ fast or else it will be taxed out of this world!

Here is my favorite part from the piece:

"Local medium Jane Cohen, 39, said: "Apparitions have often been caught on film but are invisible to the naked eye. "This woman is very smart – but she is dressed in clothes that you just don't see these days unless it's in a period drama on TV. "

Ok, I'm certainly no expert on fashion, but…um…what does it really matter what she is wearing?  Go to any art district in any major city and you'll see tons of…"interestingly" dressed people.  The lady that I bought my ultra-swanky bookcase from was dressed in some sort of late 1800's type of dress (I think…).  I'm almost positive that she wasn't a ghost.  Well…pretty sure…

And now that I'm thinking about it…why is the "Telegraph" running to a medium for answers on the picture?  Why not, oh, I don't know…why not an expert on photography?  In fact, a better question…why would anyone run to a medium to get answers about anything?  Laughing

Seriously, that pic is so screwed up on the bottom portion that it can't be taken as evidence.

And I agree Revenant- a photo expert would be a much better choice.  Who knows, maybe they already have done that, but that explanation would not be as interesting to  the masses so they had to go to the medium to spice things up a bit.

Experts have been called in to examine the Google ghoul filmed at a former Victorian docklands which has a dark and sinister past.

Unfortunately the experts laughed themselves to death so a medium was called in to contact the experts from the other side, to which they gave information that the person in the photo is obviously Doctor Who preparing for an imminent Dalek invasion.

No, it's obviously Gwen's great-great-great grandmother paying a visit to Torchwood headquarters. (OK, only Torchwood/Dr. Who geeks will get that one.)

As someone who does Renaissance faires in costume, I sometimes wonder how many ghostly experiences my friends and I have caused. Whenever I hear a story of how someone wandered into a park and was surrounded by people in period clothing, I want to find out the precise date to make sure I wasn't responsible.

In this case, though, I can prove this wasn't a ghost. Behold!

With a little digging, I found the original photograph, snapped by the Google Van as it drove past, which is indeed a little distorted, and cuts off our friend here at the knees. But the Van also got her nicely from a different angle, which shows her to be a woman with her feet firmly planted on the ground!

And, since I was trying to procrastinate doing some work, I found the "New Jersey Alien" as well. None other than our old buddy Mister Lens Flare from Captain Disillusion.

That's pretty amazing.  They actually caught her in the act of materializing.  In the one pic she wasn't all there yet, but in the second one she had manifested a little more solidly and had feet and legs.  I'd like to see the skeptics duck and dodge their way out of this one.
