Okay, after having a senior moment and having to ask Mary where to find her forum thread, I had a real good laugh today.  I had to drive down to the cable company which has an office in a strip mall down at the edge of our town.  As I crossed at the light and waited to make my turn into the center, about 100' down the road was the huge rat with a few scattered people protesting.  I couldn't help but laugh at the sight since we just shared posts not quite 24 hours before.  Okay, it was funny to me. Wink  Give me a break.  I have no Twitter account and can't share that rather funny moment with Jason, Grant or Kris!

That Giant Rat really gets around!  Laughing

"Super rats"?  I just can't imagine having to run into one.  A very definite monster in my mind whether you are young or old, most especially when you don't expect them to pop up.

They are back!

Thanks Revenant.  First let me say, rats are absolutely not my friends and that story is scary considering all the potential health dangers they carry.  I'm guessing for those in Europe/Asia especially, the fact that any rat is resistent is a scary thought given history and all those that died from the plague.  Although scholars have been debating that for some time, it is still widely believed and taught in school.

And, I hate to say this, if that picture was supposed to scare me, it didn't.  They should not have put a cute picture of a rat (yes, I said cute).  Instead, a picture of one in the context of the story would have been more startling and appropriate.  Actually, I was laughing to myself that all it needed was a beret and then I scrolled down the page to see the picture of the piece of toast wearing one!  For some reason, it reminded me of that Disney movie "Ratatouille" and I've never seen it – just seen that commerical for it over and over and over.  That being said, I don't like rats (even cute ones).

MQ needs to go back to the UK and find those giant cats they were looking for.

I bought rats, English Hooded Rats, for my children as pets. If MQ cannot find the giant cats, the UK might ship them over here to be sold as pets.  Just think when you have your house sprayed for bugs you do not have to remove them from the room.

Although not a giant rat, this species almost became a UFO.  I know that's a stretch but with all the hoopla about the giant rats in England becoming impervious to current poisoning techniques, this is a cute picture with an nice story.  Sorry, no paranormal happenings here.  http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/uk/8062757.stm
