Last weeks MonsterQuest episode was "Feral Dogs."  As you could tell by that thread, I was all over that topic.  I was just remarking to Alicat how refreshing it was to discuss something "real" for a change.  There is no question as to the existence of feral dogs.  They are not of the paranormal world.  Anyway, I was interested to see how MQ would follow it up.  And…wow…

Unidentified Flying Humanoids.  Ok then…back into the paranormal world we go…

Possible explanations included unknown creatures, aliens, and inter-dimensional creatures.  (One can argue that aliens and inter-dimensional creatures are one in the same.  Both would be "alien" or not from this planet.  I would contend that they are different.  I would place aliens, or the concept of "space aliens" within our own universe and our own dimension.  Where as inter-dimensional creatures, inferring alternate dimensions, would not only be alien to our world, but the universe as well…thus a different classification.  Do I care about any of what I just said?  No, not so much…just making the point.)

Anyway, they had a couple of videos.  You can see one here at Cryptomundo.  Good luck in trying to see anything definitive.

They even had Jaime Maussan, the most trusted man in Ufology…*cough, cough, cough* (yeah, I can't even type that with a straight face.  Check out this on Mr Maussan when you get a chance.)  He brought out his tiny alien, which oddly sounds like the punch-line to a bad joke, and had some doctors examine it (yeah, still sounding like a bad joke).  DNA tests were inconclusive as to what it was.

Frankly…I don't know what to make of anything that I saw on that episode.  It started off weird and just kind of kept going…kind of like most of my posts… Tongue out

Rev,

You beat me to this one.  This has to have been the worst and most disappointing MQ I have ever seen.  Usually, even with fantastical creatures, MQ does a good job.  When I saw that Hoaxin' Jaime was going to be on, well I should have known that it would be a hour of my life wasted which I will never get back.  Thankfully, I was enjoying a very fine double IPA from Mad River Brewery that took the edge off.

And who was the "expert" that was in the caves?  The one with the funky leather cowboy hat.

Those videos just so clearly seemed to be balloons.  In fact, I think Jaime has used some of those videos as evidence of UFO's and flying craft on other shows, now he is saying it is a flying humanoid.

I don't mean to generalize or stereotype or anything, but I just roll my eyes to any sort of "evidence" coming out of Mexico.  There are clearly too many hoaxers making money off these kinds of things in Mexico to take any of it seriously.

Patrick- Yes, I agree with you.  An awfully strange MQ episode.  Maybe they had Bill Burns from UFO Hunters as a consultant or something.  I mean that was his level of craziness.

Well, I understand what you are saying about paranormal evidence, mostly UFO-based, coming from Mexico.  Some of it is…fantastic.  Fantastic in the sense that it is so incredible…one can hardly believe it.  My personal favorite, if you remember this one, was the alien walking around near a childs birthday party.  That clip was excellent.  Laughing

But…I would hate to dismiss everything from Mexico because of hoaxes or clear misidentifications.  I mean we can say the same thing about Bigfoot here in states.  I just don't want to take the chance and miss something that might be true.  So, I'll look anything coming from anywhere.  All we can do is examine it with a skeptical eye and see if it holds water.  Maybe, one day, some piece of evidence actually will.
