Love these titles, don't you? Not something like "Gettysburg Battlefield, a Scientific Analysis of Claimed Paranormal Activity" Nope, let's go for the drama right from the beginning.
"While exploring the Civil War's bloodiest battlefield in Gettysburg, Pennsylvania, the team tries to call upon the ghost of a Confederate soldier at a local inn, and they try to connect with the only civilian to die because of the battle."
Was this the place Zak tried his re-enactment? Perhaps the energy from his excitement is still roaming the field and they will detect him. From what BD said in the GA version of this place, it looks like this will be the second time that the "only civilian to die" will be contacted. I wonder if she will tell them of her pregnancy?
All seriousness aside, I do enjoy watching this show. I have to give them credit for at least trying new things and _attempting_ to show if they work or not. They usually drive off the road at this point, but I think they get further than most shows do, and they set some groundwork and ideas for those not dependent upon keeping high ratings to try and improve upon. In some cases, I think GL fails solely in putting 2 and 2 together when looking at their findings. They're so close, but still come up with 6. The reason? As Brad explains "aw man, I see what happened, we multiplied instead of added"
For those of you who don't remember and wish to save some time channel-hunting, this is on Discovery and on one hour later than many of the shows we watch…at 8pm Mountain.
BAM!

Considering the number of people, GH, MH, GA, GL, Chip Coffee and the Warrens, that has tried to 'contact' her.
Jenny Wade needs to make a call to the Stay-Puft Talent Agency.

If those re-enactor guys aren't going to fire off even just powder shots, couldn't they at least say "Bang! Bang!" About as bad as Zak and his cap-pistol at the Bird Cage.

*sighs* So glad this show is back…
Watching the first episode of the new season last night reminded me of what I've tried to forget. Every time that I watch the Klinge brothers, I expect them to set up a wrestling ring in the middle of the investigation. Brad bursts into the ring and starts provoking. With this, he throws himself relentlessly at the floor trying to "wrastle" the ghost. Tapping in Barry, he uses the ropes to sling-shot himself all over the ring. It ends with both of them in the ring wildly swinging folding chairs at the ghosts. They hit each other at the same time and both going crashing to the mat. Obviously, they would be using stupidity as an "era cue" in this scenario.
And I will freely admit that when they provoke ghosts…I always burst into my Randy "Macho Man" Savage impersonation: "OH YEAH….COME ON OUT GHOSTIES! THE REV HERE IS GOIN' TO PUT A HURTIN' ON YOUR ECTOPLASMIC BE-HINDS! GONNA PUT YA IN A HURT LOCKER, LOCK IT UP NICE AND TIGHT AND THROW OUT THE KEY! OH YEAH!……..STEP INTO A SLIM JIM!"
Ok then…two wrestling references. I think that fills my quota for the next decade.
The only thing of interest was Brad's personal experience as a child. He took film of a few Civil War re-enactors out in some field. As the story goes, he turns off the camera to get closer, goes to film again and they are gone. Proof positive of the paranormal. Hmmm….
It's a nice story. A great story since he actually has the film. Unforunately…no time stamp on the film. There is no way to actually know how long the camera was off. Brad maintains that it was "seconds." Maybe. Kids aren't the best at judging either time nor distance. Adults aren't all that great at it. Could the people out in the field (saying that they were regular human beings as opposed to ghosts) been much closer to the tree line then he thought? Possibly. Did he leave that camera off for more than a few seconds…more like a couple of minutes? Possibly. I mean that would explain the film clip extremely well.
In any event, we can hardly accept this event as proof of anything. Any decent paranormal investigator would throw this "evidence" out. Film something, turn off the camera, wait, turn the camera back on and the object first filmed is now gone. Yeah…I'm not photography expert like Nosfer or Learjet…but…I think that kind of solves itself….
So, like I said…so glad this show is back on. *sighs heavily*

The interesting thing about that video in the field is that they were vacationing in July. I either read it somewhere or he announced it was July 6. Gettysburg was fought July 1-3. Given that at ANY time of the year, reenactors are milling all over, I can imagine the number of them would be higher the week of an anniversary of the date. I've been all over that battlefield on many occasions and I have yet to see a ghost. LOTS of reenactors though! Quite personally, I think he filmed a group of reenactors who just happened to be on a high part of the ground and then just rode on down an incline and "disappeared". What would be great is if he could state where he took the video so that the grounds could be examined to find a reason why they would have seemed to disappear. I don't think he ever has given that info though.
Oh…and that "shadow figure"…my husband said it was a vase and I think it's the base of a lamp…But Barry or Brad said that it had the "classic" shadow figure shape. So the "classic" shape of a shadow figure/ghost is the same as the figure you see on Pedestrian X-ing signs? Really?
I was glad to hear the one brother discount the creaking floors! The only sound that interested me was the sound of crying. The other sound that came while they were sitting sounded like a dove or pigeon. Maybe the era clues disturbed a nest?! What is everyone else thinking on the sounds? I have to admit to being heartbroken that there are hardly any posts yet!

Here's what I found really funny. When the girl was upstairs and stated that she heard footsteps and went downstairs to share with the brothers. The audio didn't sound like footsteps to me…just static. The kicker though was when she was expalaining the footsteps to them how there was no one else up there with her. I guess she forgot about the cameraman there??? I was laughing my a$$ off over that.

I completely agree with you, sure looked like a lamp base to me too. How they got "classic shadow figure shape" out of that, I'll never know. I still cant believe I watched 3 of their shows in a row last night. I think I'm going beserk!
