We are now into double-digit episode numbers for this show.  Tonight we follow the team to Alcatraz as they leave the familiar confines of Texas.

"After leading their team onto Alcatraz Island to investigate a notorious prison that once housed dangerous criminals, Brad and Barry hope to uncover scientific evidence connecting present paranormal disturbances to the prison's shadowy past."

From what I can see, the team has two things going for it at this place, and it is almost CERTAIN that they will find activity because of them.  One, look at all the water!  But, not only is this water, this is sea water.  Salt water has a much higher specific conductance than tap water or even the water from the Mississippi river.  Yes, Activity is all but guaranteed!

In all seriousness, though, it will be interesting to see what they consider to be a scientific test that would prove a connection between alleged present day activity and past events.  I think they first need to prove the alleged present day activity, and then worry about connecting that to the past!

Can't wait to see them drop the electronic net over the whole island … and the lab being ferried over on a barge.

Are we still drinking when anyone says Bam ?

Has anyone figured out what the heck they are saying -   "  EVP Recorded at 2.5 Hertz  "  ?

Any lurkers here that might be members of their "paranation" ? … Is there anything hidden on their website that might explain this ?

Since they have some audio editing program, I wonder if they use it to manipulate the so called anomaly they captured by raising the hertz to an audible level and possibly speeding it up until some garble mess comes out.

Also I don't think I saw the warning stating that nothing was fabricated or manipulated during last nights show.

As you did, I thought about them speeding it up, but that dosen't make sense.  They would have to speed it by 1000 to get it into voice audio around 2,500 Hz , so a 3 second EVP result would have started with close to an hour of static.

I don't know if they did at the beginning but they did show it when they came back from one of the commercial breaks.

The tripod falling over was interesting. Ghosts seem to be doing this a lot lately. Happens all the time on Ghost Hunters now on Ghost Lab too.

I noticed all 3 legs were still extended so either someone tripped over the cord or a ghost did it.

What show/episode was it where the paranormal expert was explaining that activity increases during renovations since Casper is tripping over stuff that wasn't there before ?

Unless I missed it the BAM Brothers did say anything about the water around Alcatraz increasing paranormal activity .

And why were they looking for the ghost of Robert Stroud ? From Alcatrazhistory.com " In 1959 he was transferred to the Medical Center for Federal Prisoners in Springfield, Missouri, and there on November 21, 1963, he was found dead from natural causes "

Oh I don't know…does a person actually have to die in a certain place to haunt it? I wouldn't dismiss it that quickly.

Nos, following that line of thought, would not the nude beaches of Rio and the south of France offer the best likelihood of finding both male, and yes, female spookies?

Certainly have it on my "List of a 1,000 Places to Visit After I Die".

Why not! There's really no proof of one or the other and none of these shows seems to be putting that to the test in a decent manner so until I know for certain, I have to keep the possibilities open and not dismiss them.

You could be right Nos.
HOWEVER, until I see picture of an Aborigine at Gettysburg or a Tibetan goat herder at the Spalding Inn, I'll kinda' stick with them stayin' local.

If the person had at one time been at the location, I'd push it up a notch as far as being a possibility, at least in the case of a supposed "residual". Again, be nice if some of these groups would actually make a realistic effort to do some proving or at least testing lol Well, they did test it at the Manson place :)

I forgot that you can go anywhere you want when you're dead .  I'm sure if there's anyplace Robert Stroud would want to go back to its Alcatraz lol . I'm almost looking forward to going so I can do the traveling I've  always wanted to do but couldn't lol .

this ep finally screened here in oz last night.  i really worry about these guys.  they can hear words and sentences in anything and call it an 'evp'.  the woman who claimed to have heard 'there is power in the dark' or whatever, sounded like the so-called recording of that 'evp' – so i'd give her no credence either.

give these guys a radio tuned to dead air, they'd hear the complete works of shakespeare – i'm certain of it.

the more i see of them the less impressed i am.  and i wasn't all that impressed to begin with.
