To the gang at TAPS :
Let me tell you that I love your show and really respect what you do.
My question is simple.
I am a 56 year old living in Jonesboro, Arkansas.
I have experienced the Paranormal myself first hand, but my experience
is limited.
I have been interrested in this for many years, and would really enjoy
the chance to meet with you, and possibly participate in a hunt.
You probably have these kind of questions asked all the time, and I'm
sure that you probably have had your fill of them.
But – It can't hurt to ask.
If there is anything at all that I can do for you. Whether it be research on
a specific place. Or whether it be manual labor on a hunt, please let me know
if there is anything I can do for you.
Like many of your team I have a family and a job that I am dedicated to.
I would like to be able to experience more of the adventure than just watching
it on television though.
I would love the chance to be a part of what you do – no matter how small
the task.
I do not need my name mentioned, nor do I need to be a part of any filming.
Like I said all I really want is to be able to experience a hunt, even if it is only once.
Please consider me if you are short handed.
I'm just a regular person just like you. I am in electrical sales, and work with
customers and contractors daily.
I love the Lord – my wife & kids – and the adventure you experience on
each and every hunt.
Thank you for your time
Ted "Bear" Strommer

The gang at TAPS likely doesn't ever show up here, at least not overtly since this site is not affiliated with them. You might be better off contacting them through their individual MySpace pages.

Nos,
We'll cut "Bear" some slack.
Probably just starting to come out of hibernation and still a bit groggy.
"Bear",
You need to go to the TAPS forum site.
You are definitely on the wrong bus here.

By now you've probably realized your in the wrong place, but something I wanted to point out that I thougth was pretty interesting. I know it's only two responses… but they were polite and even helpful. I'm sure If a skeptic accidentally went to a TAPS forum and asked how to join a Group for Skeptics he's be berrated and insulted like crazy. Just keep that in mind moving forward and good luck.

Now that's an excellent point. They've just about tarred and feathered anyone who so much as raised a doubt about TAPS authenticity.

Bear:
Welcome to the site.
As has been pointed out above, we're not the Ghost Hunters, nor TAPS, nor (mostly) ghost hunters of any type. This site does skeptical analysis of the claims of paranormal TV shows, including GH.
That said, if you're interested in skeptical analysis of your experience, please feel free to post an account of it in our "Possibly Paranormal" section. We have a number of people here with expertise in different topics (and a few, like me, that never let lack of expertise stop them). We might be able to provide a different perspective on what you've seen. Or, quite possibly, not.
In any case, welcome to the site. Although our primary activity is skeptical analysis, we welcome mutually respectful and well-reasoned commentary from all points of view.

I'd like to add that many of us here have had our own experiences–there's a section here where we can relate what happened to us. And no one will make fun of you, we're not that kind of board. I've seen some skeptical boards that can be very brutal, which makes them just as bad as their opposites. But this isn't one of them.

Nosfer: I am not a computer person in any way, and this was my first experience communicating
with anyone before.
I am realizing that that I'm not only on the wrong bus, I am on the starship Enterprise, heading into
unknown territory, and really lost.
I thank you, and everyone else who has answered this. You were very kind.
You learn from your mistakes, no matter how old you are, but when it comes to computers,
I am indeed Lost.
Thanks , Bear

Hi Bear,
I think you've done a wonderful job communicating here- especially considering this is your first try! Well done indeed!
Here is a link that will take you away from this web site and on over to the TAPS website-
http://www.the-atlantic-paranormal-society.com/
If you point your mouse on those words and click it that should take you right to TAPS. Then, if you look around on that page, you'll probably see a calendar of events and things they're doing, ways to contact them and lots of other info.
I would encourage you to stay here and explore this site a bit, though. I think you'll find some wonderful folks here who would be pleased to talk to you about your experiences with the paranormal and about The Ghost Hunters TV show and about all kinds of interesting stuff.
I'm sure I speak for many of us here- if there's anything we can do to help you, especially in navigating around the paranormal online, please don't hesitate to ask!
Camile

I agree with the other posters when they say you you did a good job communicating your thoughts and also want to say you shouldn't get your hopes up. I ask that you please come back if (and that is a huge if) you hear from TAPS.

I've had some of my most interesting experiences when I've been in unknown territory (or, as you say…lost) :) Even if you go over to, and join, the TAPS board, I hope you'll stick around here. Speaking for myself (but probably also a great number of the folks here) it's always good to have another person around who's experienced things and/or can possibly offer additional 'takes' on events.

Oh you bet I am .
As many of you have said – I still haven't gotten a reply from Taps.
Still want to experience the hunt though.
I appreciate all the advice and input.
