Sigh. Well, with any site of battle and mass amount of tragic death, there's going to be some sensitivity. Pearl Harbor is still a sensitive reminder of our vulnerability, and was our major 'attack' until September 11th. Now, normally I wouldn't mind an investigation done of Pearl Harbor… but with the way Ghost Hunters has been headed, I don't think Pearl Harbor deserves to be or should be a publicity boost. I can't put my finger on it… but this makes me feel kind of uneasy… I mean, Ghost Hunters have investigated plenty of controversial or uncomfortable spots in the past, but for some reason this just doesn't sit right. Maybe that's just me.

and I would have gotten away with it too, if it weren't for you meddling kids!

Trust me Milli, it is not just you.  My stomach turns at the thought of the Ghost Bunglers going and desecrating Pearl Harbor.  I guess Ground Zero can't be far behind for these goons.

When I knew they were in Hawaii back in March I had a sneaking suspicion that Pearl Harbor was the reason but was fervently hoping that I was wrong.  I was hoping that Josh might have been there for the Night Walkers but I couldn't come up with much else for GH.  The methods and attitude they take toward investigations of late makes this one quite distasteful to me.

I think they need to leave Pearl Harbor alone.Maybe because it is so close to our own time, and the fact these men who died still have relatives living who may not take kindly to the idea.

They want to check out haunted battlefields, then run around I think it's Chickamaga, where old Green Eyes

is said to haunt.I know there's something on this ghost on  the internet, and re-enactors and park rangers and visiotrs have had encounters with this ghost or whatever it is.

I hope some family members or pearl Harbor vets show up and protest. I know I darn well would be there if I found out they were checking out Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery where my parents are buried.

HollyDolly, I completely agree. From a personal perspective, my family recently discovered that my grandfather, who we already knew was a WWII vet but didn't know much about his service as he died when my mother was only 10 years old, was stationed near Iwo Jima after the battle and was a bomber pilot. It was definitely a big moment for my family, especially my mother, who barely knew her father and he didn't want to talk about his service in the war when he was alive. Since then, I've felt very close to it and can do nothing but commend those men for their service to our country. I can only imagine what this might feel like for people who also have veteran family members or perhaps know someone who died in the battle.

This is worse than that awful move, "Pearl Harbor." :P

Anywho.  The picture of the Arizona Memorial COULD be just "fill shot" since it's a daylight shot and the rest of the shots were of a night time investigation.  But this airs on 01 June which, considering last night (21 April) was the half-season finale, is very short time between seasons which is very uncommon so it's possibly being billed as a "special" (like their 100th, etc) and also given that it has Josh in it, it has to be something pretty big.  I fear part of it could be the AZ.  Again, hope I'm wrong.

Anyone who knows what actually occurred at Pearl Harbor, would be disgusted by a commercial "paranormal investigation" being done there.

Which is actually an issue I had with the Mackinac Island episode…did anyone contact "Harvey's" family before the investigation?  The show suggested Amy discovered it after the fact, but if my son had died there in that way I would be aghast that they were bandying around his life and pain for entertainment.

Adam nattering on about, "Here is your lost love, come back to you at last."

Let's hope Pearl Harbor is just background.

Strike One against the article:

The investigators of Syfy's "Ghost Hunters" are Paul Bradford, left, Susan Slaughter, Britt Griffith, Joe Chin, Kris Williams and Barry FitzGerald.

Hope the rest of the reporting is not as inaccurate!  Nice photo of GHI (vs GH)  They got Britt correct only by virtue of the fact that he was on GHI at the time of the photo lol

I know there's a thread around here but…how did Britt get back on GH again?  And…who thought it would be a good idea for him to talk to the press again?

Weren't we done with this guy?  Frown

http://www.skepticalviewer.com…..t-is-back/
http://www.skepticalviewer.com…..t-tsunami/

Those were the two threads about him reappearing, although the circumstances are still sketchy.  I suspect it had something to do with needing someone else (to take Steve's place) in Hawaii and that was is "in" to get back in.

Who thought it was a good idea?  No one here I'm sure!

Weren't we done with this guy?  Man I was hoping!!

Put me on the 'cringe list', as well.

I had the same issue with the Sharon Tate episode and the (hospital/prison?) from the Vietnam War – waaay too soon. It's one thing to hunt monks from the 15th century; it's quite another to trivialize the memories or sacrafices of those who still have families that remember/survived the horror.

GH investigator: "We've got an EVP; it's clearly a man screaming."

Possible family member at home: "Hey mom! Do you think that's grandpa screaming for help?"

Yes, I know it's over the top; still, it just bugs me.

I….I'm thinking.

Hindenburg? Yes, but I don't think they focused on the victims of the crash…it was more about the flight crews and mechanics that worked there over time…

I'd forgotten about the Vietnam era army hospital in….Central America?  That was very disturbing and I remember feeling it was totally inappropriate.  I can't imagine being invited to think that my lost son, father or brother, was trapped in eternal torment in some tropical hellhole after losing their life for their country.

I really don't think they will do Pearl Harbor proper.  There are apparently a lot of "haunted" venues in Hawaii.

I hope not, but Ford Island can't really be much else.

And then there is Amy saying: "TAPS is currently investigating in Hawaii. We've talked about it for years, and finally, it was able to happen."
