Sysematically breaking all my new year's resolutions

I, being a complete glutton for punishment, was checking out some Fanboy websites for GH today. I had to cut and paste this actual paragraph from an actual website written by an actual person (who I'm thinking actually believes this to be true!) Oh, and I put in bold letters my personal favorite paragraph…I literally laughed out loud at this "logic"! Enjoy the madness:

TAPS (The Atlantic Paranormal Society) was started by Jason Hawes and Grant Wilson after they each had paranormal experiences. Neither of them have publicly disclosed any information about their experiences. They are both plumbers for Roto Rooter, (yes, still) and do their ghost hunting at night.

People have asked why Jay and Grant are not on Ghost Hunters International, a show spawned from the original Ghost Hunters. The answer seems to me, to be quite obvious. They work day jobs, they live in the United States. How could they possibly commute back and forth across the ocean to do International Ghost Hunting? (Well OBVIOUSLY!! LOL)

It was widely rumored (publicity stunt?) that the show would be canceled after the fourth season, but obviously, that was untrue.

The biggest complaints heard about the previous seasons was the tensions between team members, and also Jay's seemingly oblivious demeanor toward everything. Speaking in monotone, almost as if uninterested, piqued the curiosity of many a viewer. Jay's tone seems to have improved. In fact, Jason Hawes just seems a much happier person.

Then this gem was posted on the same sites "personal opinions" section…it's riveting…

I really like Ghost Hunters I don't get to watch it as much as I would like because my husband does not believe in ghosts even though our house is haunted an he has seen her the woman that died here. Her name is Jeny she lived here for several years and got very sick so they made the front room in our house her bedroom downstairs because she didn't want to stay in the hospital. They brought her home and several months later she past away in the front room an we have had alot of things happen her. Our daughters have had experiences where in ther rooms the one room was the womens her sewing room and she had her pictures wore moved on her mirror and then in the front bedroom where it was her bedroom before she got sick. In that room she would move things an take things from there. She also takes money and hides it from us and then it shows up when we need it the most. I have also had someone tell me that they saw a little boy asking about our granddaughter.

Uhhh…okay! Anyone else?

Jason is the boss everbody knows that, I wish jason would bring back Brian now that steve is leaving to do his own paranormal show.It brought a lot of drama to ghost hunter show.Jason has the power to bring back Brian it was so real nothing between them faked.Every week fans wanted to know what will happen to brian is he going to skew up this week and what will jason do, drama and suspense.

Drama and suspense, indeed…and some final thoughts from the site's admin…

The Paranormal investigations of the TAPS Society. Started by Jason Hawes and Grant Wilson, The Atlantic Paranormal Society team takes on investigation to try to debunk reports of hauntings. The show is very fascinating, although I find some of their final assessments to be inaccurate. But that is just an IMOHO (IN my own humble opinion) What I like about this show is they do not go into a place intending to find paranormal activity. Most reports of the paranormal are dismissed by other reasonable explainations. However, there are times when the team is stumped by occurances they experience. I coin the term "paranormal reality show" because one of the best parts of the show is the teams reaction to different things that happen. Although it is in summer Haitus (sigh), it is normally seen on Sci-Fi channel on Wednesdays. (The accompanying picture is from their website) (Don't be sad…I too sigh when they are on summer Haitus…)

One thing I dislike about the show is that the crew never seems to grasp the concept that these were (allegedly) once living people! Not only that, but in Ghost Hunters International, they are dealing with once live people who did NOT speak English and they are sending in a bunch of East Coast Americans! One can only hope they will realize their faux pax there.

Yes, one CAN only hope their faux PAS will be realized…so blog on Fanboys…blog on…

You've got to kind of feel bad.  I mean, some people need something to believe in.  Which is fine, I'll never judge somebody for that.  But look at what they picked.

Yes, it is sad how easily people can be decieved.  They SO WANT proof of the afterlife by way of ghosts, but what really gets me is how these two charlatans can talk to fans with a straight face and claim what they saw was real.  I'm talking about some YouTube vids I've seen of Grant being showered with grace at the success of the Halloween 2008 show.  And I've also seen posts lately on the Hulu site where you can watch recent episodes of GH, where fans are still quite rabid about defending GH.  "They couldn't fake anything, I've met Grant and he's so nice!", "No way could they fake this stuff, they get asked to come into people's homes and don't charge them a cent and get NO money from this!", just to paraphrase a couple of quotes.  I've seen Gnostalgic's site and yeah, the hard core fans won't believe it even if they admit it, they will probably say J & G were forced to do so! (Admit it that is).  It is at the point where I just feel sorry for them, they probably have all Sylvia Browne's books, John Edward videos, plus their GH Hoodie.  Don't get me wrong, I'm not making fun of them, they just so want to believe.  God forbid anyone criticize what their heroes do.

Thanks for the visit. Its nice to have like-minded people check out the blog. Having said that, I think that some people may be seeing the light. One commenter called me a dumbass over the Meatloaf water bottle hoax, but now has a youtube site where he/she points out Ghost Hunters hoaxing.

Their pride prevents them from admitting that they were wrong about GH, but when they think about it, and they're not around other fans, more and more people will start to see how obvious the facade has become. I think that the ratings will continue to drop and the show will turn into something more akin to A Haunting, but they'll always be remembered as the best "paranormal reality show". Undecided

Ghost, n. The outward and visible sign of an inward fear.
