I think everone summed up this episode pretty well and I don't really have much to add… other than Britt will soon be wearing the tinfoil hat if he freaks out at 0.5mg. It seems if they don't find anything the bar gets lowered until it sits on the ground, which is where 0.5mg is.

And they're exposed to a lot more milligauss than that just doing their "evidence" "analysis" Hmmm, maybe that's how they can hear some of those EVPs that we never can distinguish!
Edited: Or in the vehicle on the way to an investigation!

So before part two airs tonight (if you're willing to call it "part two")…are we in agreement that this "mission of mercy" nonsense is a contrived attempt at misdirection?
In a world where Twitter and Facebook provide us with up to the minute banality, TAPS must have instantly known about the backlash to this episode. Even their hardcore fans backed away a bit on this one. I know they didn't see that coming.
So…Steve's emergency phone call and leaving before the reveal…snazzy. So snazzy, I hardly believe that it was their idea. This has the dirty sheen of a slick TV producer. Maybe someone at Pilgrim. Maybe someone at SyFy. Whoever it was…it was slick. It misdirects the hardcore fans from desecrating an old American wound into "gee…they really do care. Look how serious they are about helping a child. These are good guys." I think the hardcore clan is buying it. Us? Not so much…
Is there anyone here thinking that this whole thing was merely a coincidence?

I'm not exactly in agreement that part two airs tonight The second part won't air until August 24th when the new season starts. Tonight features reruns of Grammar School Ghosts and Time to Get Touched.
As far as a misdirect…possibly, though I know there is much angst at all these commercial places so part of this may be to placate the fans who want them to go back to their "roots", too. The "hardcore" fans were all jazzed up about the investigation from the get-go from what I could tell and amongst them there didn't seem to be much need to try to make them think that GH "cares" Most of those fans already believe they are one step away from being a deity already!
There is a much greater gnashing and wailing coming from the hardcore fans resulting from the fact that they are being made to wait almost 3 months for a reveal lol
Edited: And by "new season" I am referring to the new "half" season, not Season 8…

Oh…I didn't know all of that. No wonder why it was listed as a "special" but listed otherwise on Youtube. So they just did it to promo HC and that auction show (can't remember the name)? *cough*…tame…*cough*
So…when does GHI start up officially? And is GHA still around?
*sighs* I can't keep any of this straight anymore…

From what I can tell, we've been spared any further GHAs! GHI, on the other hand, starts up on Wednesday, 13 July with an episode in Trinidad (of Tobago fame, not SoCOL [as opposed to SoCAL]) called Rising from the Grave…ooooohhooohhh
Edited: Oh, and SciFi airing it then to draw viewers in to HC? Nooooo, I can't possibly believe they'd stoop to something like that! Really!?! lol
