Dark shadows…as opposed to the much less common "Light Shadows" The title reminds me of the old television show "Dark Shadows" Course, there is a reason for that. In this episode, the team investigates Seaview Terrace up in Rhode Island1 (or down in Rhode Island for you extreme northeasterners).

Seaview Terrace was where some of the TV show was filmed so naturally there are lingering effects that permeate the real life place. Voices and temperature drops await us.  If temperature drops are a sign of ghosts, then we have to be swimming in paranormalness here the last few days.

Wonder if this episode has anything to do with the filming of the new Dark Shadows movie?…  Nah, couldn't be.  After the publicity episode of last week I sure wouldn't doubt it.  I don't really see anything as far as haunted house tours here yet, but I can't help but wonder if we shall see them in the near future.

This particular mansion was/is part of Salve Regina University and there are ghost stories that DO predate GH being there, but that is usually the case with any building of this style.  There was a supposed suicide of a nun and a few others.  Some there claim the hauntings to be just myth and folklore.  But, hey, any place with secret passageways and hidden rooms can't be all bad, right?

This week we learn that precariously balancing a thermal camera so Britt and KJ can do an "EVP Session" unfettered by the FLIR is an excellent way to get a ghost to knock it over. Hopefully they don't try to make too much of this.

This week's episode features the 1000th utterance of the words "Did you hear that?"

Keep an eye out for wandering chew toys and moving shrubbery.

1Did you know that Rhode Island was first called Providence Plantations?

As if the 3 guys in the filming crew that tag after them everywhere are silent as ninjas … Confused

Having a crew present but offscene just destroys it for me.

Having an open mind is a two way street.

"When in doubt, throw it out"

I have to applaud Steve for taking this tact with the FLIR incident.  Probably much to Britt's and KJ's chagrin.  And one can't help but wonder what the reaction would have been had that been Brian using the FLIR and setting it up, only to have it fall over.

So, "kudos" to Steve.

But, they are sure inconsistent about what they have "doubt" about.

The sound of the door.

Anyone else for putting this one on the Grant List?  A sound identified as the door (the door right behind Grant) closing.  A closing that was, of course and as always, not captured on any of the video devices present.

It's not paranormal but what was with Amy and Adam in the basement ? Amy says they need to wear masks because of asbestos but most of the time they aren't wearing masks . And I didn't see anyone else wearing masks either .  Sorry   having a lung disease myself , not from asbestos , I just get concerned when I see people taking things like that lightly .

I suspect for "drama"  And I suspect in last week's episode it could have been to cover their mouths so we couldn't see what they were really saying during the SFT…maybe I'm just suspicious.

A very noisy place. Yet nobody seems to mention, for other than historical purposes, that the house was constructed in the 20s then literally rebuilt miles away from its original location. An old house has its creaks and groans, but a house that was relocated and rebuilt? And is  in the process of being refurbished? Seems like it would naturally be a noisy place.

and I would have gotten away with it too, if it weren't for you meddling kids!

That was my first thought.   Grant was quite close enough to throw his left elbow at the door.  IIRC, Jay's reaction was similar to other suspected "Grant list" things.  i.e. downplaying it,  let's move on attitude, etc..

We're long overdue for an addition to the Grant List! I'll watch the episode and see.

It's been a while but I wanted to post on this one.

Nosfer – the state I was born and live in is named "The State of Rhode Island and Providence Plantations".   There is a yearly push to rename it but the name still stands.

My daughter graduated from Salve Regina University.    This building was leased by the Univ and the owner lived in half of it and the other half was a dorm.    It has since been sold (or willed) and SRU no longer leases any of it.   Only the open building shot of Dark Shadows was filmed there, nothing else.     My daughter stayed there for a summer she worked for the Univ.    She had heard all the stories of the nun suicide and how the Univ supposeidly had a priest bless it each year.    At first she and her roommates claimed they heard the blinds moving when the window was closed and that they heard walking above them in an off-limits attic.    After a short time they heard and saw nothing except creaks and noises heard in an old wooden house.    They asked the old women who lived there (she sold it or died) about ghosts/spirits and she simply laughed.    It is a cool place to wander with all the hidden doors and stairway and the fact it has a private beach!
