Finally we have another private residence investigation. Wow. Enjoy this one while you can, it may be a while before we see another. In this one we will see another 5 minutes of Maddie and they put her to some practical use since one of the claims at this place is that the owner's dog just doesn't like to go into certain rooms. So, let Maddie take a walk through and see what goes on.

When I first saw about the dog not going certain places, my first thought was to wonder what the floor-type was and sure enough, Jason does bring this up and it appears that it's a hardwood floor problem. When Maddie has no reservations walking anywhere, the notion of nails comes up…which is certainly testable if they just look at the owner's dog's paws afterward. This brings to mind (AGAIN!) a certain GHI episode about a smooth floor in an opera house and a dog that had trouble there…

All that EMF-sniffing training is really being put to use since Maddie is dismissed thereafter and they haul out the K2s to check the rest of the house. Hair-pulling must be a common tease that the afterlife entities like to pull and this one must be true because not only have Kris and Amy had that problem in the past, the homeowner here does and Grant gets to experience it as well.

The episode does sound promising as it shows some potentially promising debunking and it's a not-for-profit location.

Hey Pilgrim: Bring in more of these types of investigations.

The other part of this duo of episodes consists of a trip to Maine to investigate a Civil War fort that has evilness within its walls. The site of this investigation is Fort Knox and I believe that GH was filming there in February of this year (2011). The crew spent six days filming, but the team spend only two days investigating. Well, ya need a lot of B-Roll stuff.

Of interest is that Fort Knox holds an annual Fright at the Fort night on Halloween. Also of interest is that the park historian indicates that there are no "official" reports of hauntings at the fort and there was only one death that took place there.

I have no idea what an "official" report of a haunting is other than possibly one that was documented by the watch. So what we would be left are is the typical case where you can bring some unknown tour guide or visitor on to say he saw something. Must be something there since they will be looking for "ectoplasmic apparitions" You just can't make this stuff up!

Drinking scenes: Any time one of the investigators goes on about how good it is to help a family.

(But, seriously, let's have more residences)

And we have the re-emergence of Britt.  Yay

Edited:

His first scene and Britt is already doing another runner, some things never change.  And off by himself.  Fire him for violating the TAPS rules.

At least the tour guide or whatever he was was honest…when he says…now people have more reasons to come visit us.  Mission Accomplished.

And then, onto the next episode where Grant says it's good to have Jason back (Jason not being at the reveal at Fort Knox)  They are on their way TO North Carolina.  All well and good except that, according to Jason's travels, he was in North Carolina BEFORE the Maine trip.

Enjoying 70's in North Carolina, but feeling bad for family in Rhode Island dealing with snow, ice and in the teens for temp.  February 2 at 11:11am

in northern Maine. What's beautiful state.I've aways loved it up here.  February 7 at 6:39pm

Jason is bringing a dog with him on investigations.  The investigations now feature dogs that supposedly have had paranormal experiences.  The reveal features helpful tips for the dog…even bringing his own dog through the house to show the client how safe it is now for her dog.

*scrunches his face and tilts head*

Do you guys remember the Xmas film "Scrooged" with Bill Murray?  In the film, he plays Frank Cross, a TV exec who wants to air a live Xmas special on TV.  If you recall, the head of the network (played by Robert Mitchum) tells Frank about some marketing research involving cats watching TV.  He wants Frank to include programming for the cats in the special.  Which, of course, leads to Frank yelling at a stage hand to staple antlers to the heads of mice.  Good Xmas fun…

Anyway…anyone starting to wonder if the braintrust over at Syfy began thinking along these lines?  People like dogs.  People spend a lot of money on dogs.  Let's get more dogs on the show.  This will ultimately help the ratings.

And if this is true…does that mean Steve and Tango are going to get some antlers stapled to their heads? Laugh

Yup, that's where I was going with the cuteness factor before…ratings ratings ratings.  Each picture of Maddie was getting hundreds of "awwwwwww how cute" comments, and this was well before there was word of her going on the show.  I'm sure even Pilgrim could put two and two together.

And I don't believe that they are even the first ones.  Isn't there some sort of ghost show on the Animal Planet channel?  I swear I've seen dogs and such on them.  I guess that would make sense…Animal Planet…ghost show that has animals sometimes.  Sure…

To be honest though, I haven't been able to make it past the one minute mark on that show, so…I can't really say much more about it.  I don't even know the name…

Isn't there one called "The Haunted"?  That's the only one I can think of it that would have ghosts.  I see it listed quite often and I've thought about thinking about considering watching it but the description cures me each time lol

I wanted to mention this and forgot to…so…

Did Jason claim to see a "shadow" or "movement" within the laser grid, but it wasn't caught on camera?  If so…how is that possible?  If you set up the laser grid…the entire point of it is to use a video camera and watch for any sort of irregularity.  So…the video camera is pointed directly at the laser grid…presumably…and it didn't register anything.

So…either Jason was in error when he said he saw something (I believe he mentioned something like a head and a shoulder…or maybe just a shadow within the grid…hard to remember now) or…the camera was set-up incorrectly.  No other option…well…accept assigning the magical ability of the ghost to appear briefly to Jason, blocking the light of the laser but not getting caught on camera.

Any thoughts on that one?

That was Amy/Adam rather than Jason/Grant, but yes she did say something about "I almost don't want to say what I saw" but we knew she was going to anyway.  I didn't see anything at the time and when the notion of "hoping whatever it was, was captured on camera" was brought up, I knew we were in for a bust.  And when nothing WAS captured on the camera, I chalked it up to the usual psyching themselves up that must happen a lot in these places where they start seeing things or are experiencing floaters, and not the candle and sack type.

I have to wonder if they really DO think they are seeing something (situational psyching)  I can't quite imagine them being brazen enough to make up the fact that they saw something when they know they have a camera pointed right at the area…now if it HAD been Jason or Grant making the claim or had there been no camera, I could accept that a bit more, but not sure so much with Amy yet especially with a camera there.

The whole laser grid thing seems to me to be there way of trying to look real high tech and wowing us with lights.

Hi there, just speaking in general, All I can say is that most of the orbs seem more like different bugs and even fireflies that are out of focuss in the foreground, rats and raccoons, cow's moo's or a wolf or coyotee's howl, crickets or even an owl can be soo distorted through such materials as walls and pipes, they can sound more like moans, groans and creeks, it might even explain some of the EVP's.

Annother example is that I used to think my house was haunted because some of the house doors would shut on their own, lol I was 6 at the time. Later I found out that our house is a well sealed envirement and that doors opened even from the second floor that are quickly opened would automatically slam a door already half closed shut in the basement, go figure.

I do like this episode, I hope someday they catch that smoking gun. But then again, even when that happens, they're will always be critics saying that this was faked or staged.
