Without skipping a beat, we now make a switch from GHI to GH for your Wednesday night viewing enjoyment. I'm going to take a chance and assume that this is the start of Season 7. It could be the second half of the continuation of the start of Season 6.8, too, for all I know.
(Crowd to the side yelling in British accent: "Get on with it!")
Anyway, the opener for this set of episodes appears to be of a gimmicky nature and includes at least one Peruvian Llama. The team heads to Alexandria, Louisiana, which is apparently haunted (yep, the whole city is haunted). The city is inland a ways, thus away from the ocean which, with it's salinity is of a high specific conductance and therefore a catalyst for paranormal activity. Nevertheless, I suspect high PKEs. No, not Psycho Kinetic Energy…more likely Post Katrina Economic Stimulus.
In this episode the town hosts an event (fundraiser?) so that the team can submit it's findings. Does anyone else smell circus?
Supposibly there is a hotel (The Hotel Bentley), a bar (Finnegan's Wake Pub), and a restaurant (The Diamond Grill), that all have paranormal activity in them. If you hurry you can still make reservations for the Diamond Grill which is going to have a big wing ding going on Wednesday night for the airing of this episode. You can be assured that GH found activity there!
It tells you something when they have to have gimmicks and hype like this for a show. They are definitely coming down off their ratings high of earlier seasons and, given what we've seen in recent episodes, have become stuck in a dying formula (no pun intended…or maybe it was)
In the Hotel, one of the owners, Joseph Bentley, has been seen (even though died sometime in the 1930s) and people claim to have been tripped while going down the steps.
Some of the claims at the Irish Pub include glasses flying and falling on the floor. Anyone who finds anything paranormal about that has obviously never been in an Irish Pub!!
The shooting apparently took place over an 8-day period near the beginning of December, 2010. Nice when all that gets boiled down to 40 minutes after commercials.
An interesting tidbit which may not mean anything (but I'll bet you my last sock DOES mean something) is that the Hotel is currently closed and in the process of…being restored. And when I say it might mean something, I'm NOT referring to the "theory" that renovations make ghosts more active, either. I just mean that renovations can be…well…costly. The current owner initially put about a million dollars into the hotel in upgrades in the early 2000s but it stayed open for only about five years before being closed again.

"Out of my peripheral vision" is one of the worst ways to start out any of these shows

The worst way is to continue to further the notion that the little sit-down chat at the table in the beginning ISN'T scripted!

Come to think of it, I don't know that any of these investigations in bars have NOT involved glasses doing odd things. At least there were no references to apparitions of Gene Hackman like last year!

They refuse to bring up the fact that there are cameramen around them, unless of course one gets taken out by a sound equipment bag.

I fear, in our archness, we have forgotten the very real possibility, nay probability, of astral projection in regard to Mr. Hackman.
What the heck is a "boudic body" anyway?

Boy Nosfer, did you hit the name on the head with this one.Good call .Never ever heard of Alexandria ,Lousyana being haunted, and your right, they can smell the post Katrina dollars going kaching in the cash register with this one.
If the hotel closed after five years it sounds like mismanagement somewhere along the line."Oh look dear, let's stay at the Bentley, it got the Ghost Hunters seal of approval."Hey, I wonder if they are going to come out with GH stickers that businesses can put in their windows to say it's ghost approved, sort of like those decals you get from AAA for your car to show you are a member.Hey, maybe they'll do like Duncan Hines and come out with a guide to haunted hotels and such(his was restaurants I believe).Heck they could come out with a a sugar cookie mix with spooky sprinkles for the junior ghost busters, haha.
Never heard of a boudic body before. Would have made more sense if they had said a doppleganger of Gene Hackman.

LOL Interesting how clear it becomes with a correct spelling! I was thinking it had something to do with the remains of the famous queen of the Iceni tribe!

In the context of Irish Pubs and Ghost Hunters, Gene Hackman is on topic.

…though any further discussion on how he might actually appear should be done in the above topic.

This has been bothering me. Examine exhibit A.
http://img192.imageshack.us/i/…..udiov.jpg/
How come in all their EVP/footstep/whisper audio captures their audio levels are completely flat? If something is really there shouldn't it make a spike or at the least a rise in background noise level? Yet there is nothing. It's flat.
I've been doing some night bird call recordings lately and even the faintest seem to have a rise in background noise.

I've had that same problem going way back. I yelled about it (and I'm sure there was an aplitude change in MY audio trace at least lol) back in the Titanic exhibit one….starting with post #53 here:
http://www.skepticalviewer.com…..06/page-3/
What we are hearing just can't be coming from the trace that we see. I've seen cases where the sound doesn't even correspond with the spikes.
Edited to add: Your example above is all the more reason why they need to release the raw data. How much enhancing etc is done to it before we get to hear the finished results?

I forgot about that thread, thanks.
It was a strange episode. I almost had to think what century I was in. For a moment there it felt like something around the 17th century. First the town brings in ghost hunters, next there will be witch trials?
