The second-half-season finale is another "let's help drum up business for a business" type of investigation. This week, the gang goes to the Christmas Farm Inn which happens to be conveniently located not too far from their own Inn. Not next door but if you had a rock and a good arm or possibly a trebuchet…
The place has activity, let's listen to what Bruce Campbell (a veteran bartender) has to say (let's assume he was only serving drinks before this incident):
"I looked to my right and I saw a ghastly looking female going up some non-existent stairs. Strangely enough, it did not ruffle my feathers at all. Sure, it was weird, but I remember thinking, 'Oh. Look. there's a ghost.' But that was about it."
Okay, all together now: "Disbelief in 3 – 2 – 1, YEAH RIGHT!"
Why is GH going here, really? Well, it's the last episode of this part of the second half of the season, it will be December 8th when it's aired (think pre-Christmas hype) and the place is called Christmas Farm Inn. Well, that would be one reason. Here are a few others:
- "He [Gary] and Sandra [the innkeepers] are waiting to see what kind of an impact the show's airing will have on the inn's business."
- "Dugan [producer] says the show has its devotees of wanna-be “Ghost Hunters,” and that the broadcast no doubt will boost business."
- "“There are people who are diehard ghost enthusiasts, and they plan their vacations around going to places that have had sightings. They are a strong cult, and the show has a huge following,” said Dugan. Whether ghost enthusiasts will see “Ghosts of Christmas Past,” or other apparitions at the inn or on the television show, remains to be seen. But Grant Wilson of TAPS says it ought to be a boon."
Another quote from Jim Dugan the producer:
“I am probably the biggest skeptic you ever met in your life — a ghost would probably have to slap me in the face!” I am in charge of making every show entertaining.”
Truth, the first casualty of Entertainment?
The silver lining? Can't be any worse than the Housewives episode!
The Christmas Farm Inn (and Spa) website is here.
