"Jason, Grant and the TAPS team travel to Lake George, New York, to investigate the possibility of paranormal activity inside Fort William Henry, where hundreds of British troops, civilians and prisoners were massacred in the mid 1700s."
For those of you familiar with James Fenimore Cooper's The Last of the Mohicans, this is the Fort surrendered by Lt Colonel Monro (Munro as Cooper and other's call him) to the French General Montcalm.
After a week of heavy fighting during which the Fort was bombarded to the point of collapse, Monro decided to surrender. The surrender took place and was accepted honorably and all was going well. Unfortunately, the Indians under the French command felt cheated out of being able to pillage and take the spoils which the French had promised them for their involvement, and attacked the British column as it was being taken to Fort Edward. To their credit, the French troops tried to intervene.
The description by Cooper as well as the early reports of the day were slightly exaggerated and this continues with the description given above for this week's show. Instead of the "hundreds" it is now thought the number ranged from the 70s to about 180. Live prisoners were considered much more valuable for trade. So, the number of spirits to contact is a bit less than they may be expecting.
After stopping the massacre, the French continued to take the British, under protection as well as guard, to Fort Edward. After which they returned and burned Fort William Henry to the ground.
Some thoughts for when you are watching the GH team investigating inside the buildings. The Fort was razed to the ground and sanded over, it lay that way for the next two hundred years before they erected the present buildings. The Massacre also took place enroute to Fort Edward, not inside William Henry.
Adam finally puts in an appearance on a regular hunt. No "Housewives" (yay!) KJ is back :( and we get to see the results of the Buffalo Terminal "investigation" DODGE!
Edited: Well what do you know! They have ghost tours:
