Came across this by accident – http://beyondrealityevents.com/forums/index.php?topic=2383.0

"The S.P.I.R.I.T.S. Team was able to stay together during the investigation and all went down into the bar at approximately 9:15pm to attend the KII session with Jason Hawes and Grant Wilson of TAPS. The session went very well with many KII responses to questions asked by both Jason and Grant as well as many shadows spotted in the doorway between the bar and game room, as well as in the game room. Jason also picked up on a strong sulfur/feces order in the game room near where the shadows had been identified. No sources for this order or the shadows could be identified."

So visitors to the "2 Kings Pub" should be sure to take a deep breath … if you're lucky you'll get a big wiff of one of Grant's favorite sayings … Frown

LOL…is this their way of blaming the smells on something paranormal rather than….

An interesting point about the Inn.  For some reason, in peak skiing season when people fight to find a room to stay at any price, the Inn charges less for their rooms (by @ $100) and the Carriage House is closed from December to March and yet, for a small place, they are still not sold out.  They have blocked out Dec. 6 for their event "Christmas with J and G" (and Britt) and they also blocked any room reservations for Dec. 24, 25 and 26.  I'm guessing they are closed and/or having a family holiday.

Maybe that will give them time to clean up their act in the Pub…..

EDIT:  After thinking more about what was written by the S.P.I.R.I.T.S. team, I was reminded by what some of us were discussing after hearing about the purchase and the renovations being made to the Inn.  What we have to remember is that Jason and Grant claim they made renovations.  What renovations we'll never know but renovations can cover a variety of possibilities.Wink

Perhaps if they are getting bad smells, they should hire plumbers to check out their septic system.  A strong 'sulfur' smell could mean they have sewer gas, and it should be fixed.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sewer_gas

Check out the part on Health Effects.  Note it mentions 'rotten egg odor' which is like sulfur.

EDIT – It just occurred to me that it would be great if there would be a Canadian version of a combined  "Ghost Hunters/UFO Hunters".  They could use Red Green and Harold as the lead investigators.  Oh, the possibilities…  (I should be in charge of thinking up new TV shows.  Mine would be very interesting.)  Let's start a email campaign for this new show.  I know I would be faithfully watching.  They'd have to think up a new Lodge Pledge though.  Any ideas?  Or maybe not…  their old one would fit in nicely:

"Quando omni flunkus moritati" ("When all else fails, play dead").

"Quando omni flunkus moritati" ("When all else fails, play dead") – Possum Lodge motto. Jason and Grant should adopt it as their own.

Went back and read the entire post … you also might not want to stay in room #25 -

"  a) Recorder A – Time Stamp 0:31:49 on the recording: Immediately upon entering the room Eileen identified a strong sulfur/feces smell."

Since this event was in May, one would think that if Jason & Grant found a legitimate reason for this, someone might have posted that it was debunked.  If they have decided that this is "demonstink" or some other form of the paranormal, they are presented with a quandry. Do they banish the evil and lose their "reputation" as a haunted inn, or is there some sort of Casper Beano ?

Just how do you explain that to the health board or the tourist guidebooks ?

Inquiring minds want to know !

Gee, maybe someone should advise TripAdvisor.  Oh right, they don't respond to things like that.  What a joke.  Wonder what goodies Patrice's dog left as well.

Maybe that's why the rooms aren't full…they keep certain ones off the list just so that they can be investigated. Still not sure how they are going to break even though.

Be funny if the chair is rocking by itself, though…after they leave the real ghosts finally come out.

Yep, I can see it now…

Beautiful fall foliage… deer walking by…  sun setting… bigfoot watching the porch from afar sees the rockers a rockin' and then, without warning, they appear out of the shadows and mist.  There it is, the first ghost fist bump and those immortal words "on to the next!" Money mouth

Pretty interesting that the only response they "pick up" is "no" and more "no" AND that they were picked up on TWO recorders at the same time. Pretty much shoots the beans out of THAT theory!

Well Nosfer, there's this theory that any lame evidence picked up on multiple recorders by a couple of schmo's ignorant enough to pay hundreds of dollars to ghost hunt at a location that isn't even haunted automatically then becomes compelling evidence…that's the theory, anyway.

And pretty interesting that the schmos last night "confirmed" the single recorder theory! These guys oughta all get together and hash it out…I'll even provide the beechwood staffs for them to use in the negotiations! Heck, bring in film cameras and make it next year's live event…I'd tune in and watch the whole thing!

Nos, you are a genius! I can see it now…GH Halloween Live from the Spalding Inn!!! The cameraman turns the corner in time to catch Grant trying to coax one of his kids to say "where's my mommy?" into his digital voice recorder, while Jay is cursing and sweating over trying to unravel a huge bobbin of fishing line…

Is it true they don't have WiFi and/or televisions in the rooms yet?  No wonder people aren't storming the place to spend a few nights.

Well, don't know what activity ifany S.P.I.R.I.T.found there, but your right about the sewer gas.Should get it checked out. If they want to make money on the inn, they need to put in the internet connections and tvs with cable.Rent all the rooms out. If you go to mysa.com or type in KENS5, they should have a Halloween video of San Antonio's most haunted places. One of which is the Menger Hotel. I don't know if they allow investigations of the hotel, however I'm sure they try to rent all the rooms they can.Yes this is on topic.

If they want to rent all the rooms there, then don't block them off at the Spalding. They need to get a hotel manager in there that knows their stuff. Can't rely on some ghost hunting teams to pay the bills. Like I said in another post, they should have bought a bed and breakfast in their home town.Even if the place wasn't haunted, they still could go and have a nice business and make money since everyone here says the Spalding is kind of out of the way.

I used to love the Red Green show when they had it on my local PBS Channel.Hilarious.
