We're looking at ways to improve the podcast, and one way is to start featuring interviews. I'm looking for suggestions on interesting people to interview who might have something to say of interest to our merry band here. Feel free to either put suggestions here or PM me. Don't put contact information here, though– use a private message for that. Also PM me if you're suggesting someone who hangs around here– including yourself. :)
There's a learning curve to doing interviews, so I'd like to start with some friendly interview subjects who wouldn't necessarily mind a redo later on.
Michael Shermer, James Randi, Joe Nickell or some other well-known skeptic would make for interesting interviews. I would like to hear what former team member Paula Donovan has to say about GH. She is a research scientist and was introduced by Jay as a skeptic. I don't know if she was a team member for a whole season but she just kind of vanished without explanation. But she never showed any skepticism, or if she did, it didn't make into the final edit of the show. Looking at her MySpace page, she's still involved in the paranormal field. She's in the "Divas of Darkness" with Donna and another former team member. Former team members are probably restricted from saying anything negative about GH so I don't know how revealing she could be, assuming there's anything to reveal.
Joe Nickell is a good suggestion. Ok, he is "big gun" in the field, but he seems genuine and approachable. And very knowledgable to put it mildly. And seems to treat everything paranormal with the same civil respect and curiousity that is the hallmark of this site. He has written atleast some about GH where he rather unambigously found them lacking, but it would be interesting to hear him speak more in-depth on investigative techniques.

.Michael Shermer, James Randi, Joe Nickell, I don't think that would be a friendly start. It doesn't have to be someone well known, just qualified on the topic the podcast will cover. In the future I would like to hear comments from a magician. His idea how.. Hint… a bag full of sound gear jumps up. An interview with the new editors would also be great. I think that would be a friendly start.

So I'm guessing that means no Grant?
How about one of the ladies, Brenda or … the other name escapes me, that have posted here concerning their experinces with TAPS.
I also liked the idea of ex TAPS members or a magician.
What about an interview with an expert in FLIR technology, especially if he or she is familiar with GH. I would like to hear an expert opinion on, for example, the "soldier" on the locker or the black mass in the window of that barn.
Jeff Wagg, General Manager at the James Randi Educational Foundation. Jeff plays a major role in the application process for the MILLION DOLLAR challenge.
Good suggestions. You can pretty much rest assured that I'll try to get the usual skeptical subjects aboard, although keep those suggestions coming. Eventually, though, I think it's probably important to get some people from outside the skeptical community to be interviewed.
I really like the suggestion about bringing in technical experts to talk about equipment. kevin, I like the FLIR expert suggestion– I've got an idea on who to interview there.
As for Grant– I'd love to interview him, eventually. I doubt if he'd agree, but I'll certainly make an attempt to get someone from TAPS to talk to us. If we're being completely unfair, I'd love to have them set us straight. Not something I want to do until the interview process is a well-oiled machine, though.
Brian Harnois – he I think is the most creditable former member of taps, based on some of the talks he has given on ghost hunting. They abused him on the show to type cast him as a stoog, which I would leave a place if they did that to me on TV. I would love to hear Brian's true opinion on the hoaxing.
Also I would like to hear from all the people who used to be on the show regularly, back when TAPS seemed more creditable. Such as the demonologist, I think his name is Kevin. Seemed like just all of a sudden they had no need for a demonologist.
" Your reality Sir is lies and balderdash and I am delighted to say I have no grasp of it whatsoever!"
Brian would be an interesting interview but I'm not sure I would put him high up on the credibility scale. How about Andy Andrews? He's lively, talkative, and seems to have a skeptical side.
Hee hee hee! "Get her!" That was your whole plan, huh, "get her." Very scientific.

I think you're talking about Keith and Karl Johnson (twins). I heard they still have contact with TAPS, but are basically off doing their own things. I can't remember where I read it, but I had also been wondering what happened to them.
You are a god among insects. Never let anyone tell you different. ~Magneto
Brian is on my Myspace and he just posted his contact email if anyone wanted to "book" him for an appearance or interview. Who knows… maybe he would do it if he was asked. Doesn't hurt to ask?
HAUNTED HOAX is out to expose the fakes, which claim to be real and offers possible explanations to other "evidence" posted on websites like this. Host, author Patrick H.T. Doyle, explores historic and "haunted" sites while examining video and photographic evidence posted for public view — from opening doors and picture frames that move to ghostly figures captured on film. Patrick stages reenactments and demonstrates how a large percentage of evidence can be fabricated with just a simple digital camera and everyday items. This show hopes to decontaminate the evidence pool and move paranormal research forward. Each episode will educate and entertain while you learn the tricks some could use to create a HAUNTED HOAX.
