I was wondering after seeing a repeat of GHI about the motion sensors.  A light that looked like a flashlight "walked" around in view of a camera, and their evidence that it was a ghost was the motion sensor not turning on the light.  This reminds me of the lighthouse episode on GH when they filmed the ghost at the top with no light turning on from the motion sensor.

The motion sensor seems pretty simple, could you defeat it just by putting tape over the sensor?  Then you can film something moving infront of it "proving" it was a ghost.

It depends on the brand/type of sensor.  Some could be fooled by tape, others could be fooled by setting the motion sensor to "detect" at a certain height or above.  There are still others that require a certain speed; a certain amount of light blockage or % of receiver coverage; or a number of variables to be set off.

Sharpe – what episode was that ? I'd like to check it out

Just wondering if getting hit with strong infrared light, like a reflection from one of Pilgrims illuminators, could trigger a motion sensor …

That might explain the GH lighthouse going on.
