Does anyone besides me think this Haunted Island House with Celebrity Guest and Good Friend Meatloaf was embarrassing and cringe-worthy?
I do not have a DVR, so I couldn't go back and confirm what I thought my eyes were seeing about the bathroom and the water bottle. Didn't it look like there was glass in the window when they first entered the bathroom, and didn't the window have little fake -dividers that make a window look like it's a bunch of small windows instead of one BIG window? (those probably have a name, but I don't know what it's called). And wasn't this room on the ground floor? And when they went back into the bathroom AFTER the water bottle 'levitated', didn't it look like the window was now OPEN? And that there was only a big window without the little dividers? And wasn't the water bottle left mysteriously close to that window, and the toilet was also right next to the window, on the opposite side? I swear I could see reflections in the glass window the first time they entered the bathroom, and no reflections at all the second time (along with the missing dividers). Which would indicate a large open window. On the ground floor. It wouldn't have even taken someone entering the bathroom to move the water bottle, they would only have had to reach in and move it.
Just saying….

You are dead on! I spotted something strange about that whole thing too! Also, just before all three of them first headed to the bathroom, there is a clear shot of Grant walking towards the bathroom and he does a quick diddle to his walkie that was clipped on his waist..I actually re-played the scene a few times because I couldnt believe they didnt edit that out. No wonder there was such great "conversations" going on with that K2! Meatloaf (or MEAT) was hilarious and I enjoyed seeing him get involved. Nice to see someone really trying to investigate and show some enthusiasm. I also thought the location was great and had a lot of possibilities, but disapointed as usual! I found myself looking forward to Steve heading up to the spider room and screaming like a little girl…at least they seemed to tone that embarrasement down a bit.

OK..just watched that scene again…when they first went in the bathroom, the window was open…then they leave and discuss the whole water bottle request and they show the room again and the window is closed (no grills removed or anything)… then they go back and notice the bottle has moved and the window is again open! Unbelievable!

Interesting how Grant wanted to close the bathroom door when Jason said to leave it open. I also wonder if Grant diddled with his walkie just before first exploring the bathroom in order to signal someone outside to prepare for the next hoax! Wow…they really think their viewers are idiots!

The moving water bottle was too convenient for me. Also the whole KII thing drove me nuts. Grant was lurking off camera the whole time that thing was going off and he had a strange look, can't put my finger on it, on his face the whole time and was acting odd.
I personally thought our new BFF, Meat, did a good job but was used by J&G with the KII. His question to the home-owner about the children being the only ones to see the dead priest was a very good one that the talent would never ask. He was into it which can't be said for the others for a long time.

I thought it was cool when they met up with Meatloaf, and they're supposed to be good friends with him and stuff, and Steve is like, "Nice to meet you, uh, again." Or something close to it. Like he wasn't sure if he was supposed to be old friends with Meatloaf or not.

It's unfortunate, but how can we not expect Grant to be involved with the water bottle, KII etc.? We're not picking on him; he has certainly brought this sort of suspicion down upon himself.
I actually thought Meatloaf was better than anyone with his EVP sessions. Somehow his questioning was more friendly and strayed a bit away from GH's usual repetoire. In fact, it seems that, in general, he was fun to watch and not as robotic as the TAPS crew. I'd actually enjoy the show if he had a major part in it on a regular basis.
But that KII–please. Ridiculous and totally unbelievable.

I agree Obliette….He was fun to watch and was clearly the best investigator there! Also, why did Kris find the need to contact Jason for seeing a shadow in the room? This kind of thing seems to happen all the time and no one ever brings in another investigator to discuss it. I also enjoyed the fact that the camera man had finally had some battery issues…They are paying attention to this site….I am sure of it!

I dunno, I have a differing opinion of Meat's questioning with the K2. To me he seems to have been well trained in what stupid questions to ask, like "if you want us to leave set the lights off". No paranormal investigator in their right noggin would ask that. They are there to investigate, not clear out at the first whim of Casper. How about "if you want us to drown ourselves in the river – set the lights off".
Control questions also need to be asked with obvious false answers like "are you the Flying Spaghetti Monster". I know this sounds silly but the K2 seemed to be giving a yes to almost everything asked.
In the end if the whole thing is faked I don't suppose it matters what they ask. They will get the answers they want.
In typical GH style a camera is never on the object of interest. A camera on the water bottle would have been too good to be true. But instead, like a diabetic kid in a candy shop, we are not allowed to have that, as usual.
I come away from this episode frustrated, annoyed and asking myself why I bother watching.

Howdy, I just joined this site and I have to commend everyone for the intelligent and well thought out posts I’ve read. I remember when GH first aired and thought it was the best thing ever, finally a team of skeptics that seemed believable in their investigations. I can’t tell you how many paranormal shows I’ve seen and websites I’ve looked at only to be terribly disappointed in what they present as supernatural evidence. Not to mention the ones that lean on psychics as scientific proof. Just watching them walk around spouting lines of BS makes me nauseous.
Unfortunately, it seems GH has gone down the entertainment road rather than the skeptical road of truth and sincerity. When I watched the episode last night with the water bottle in the bathroom, I too thought the window was open in one scene and it’s nice to know that others here were able to confirm my suspicions. Is GH even trying to hide faking evidence anymore? That’s pretty sloppy work, they need a quality control person to come in or something. And the K2 meter is being grossly overused, I guess viewers enjoy watching the pretty lights. Anyone notice how the K2 went from having a couple questions asked in earlier episodes to full conversations now? It’s only a matter of time when they contact Elvis, perhaps they’re saving that for sweeps. At least Meatloaf was great to see, I was having Rocky Horror flashbacks all night.
I’ll still watch GH and enjoy it, but now I look at the program more as an entertainment show like Most Haunted. I’m afraid their credibility has suffered as they try new tricks to bring ratings in. At least it’s 10 times more watchable than GHI. But I do miss Donna!

There is only one reason why I watch….to try to catch their obvious tricks! I was so excited to see how this episode gives us all something to analyze the next day…I LOVE finding something that they messed up! THAT is why we all still watch..

Mr. Loaf is still a rock-and-roll hero. Bat Out of Hell was part of my high-school soundtrack. He didn't do anythng to disgrace himself last night. Played along like a good sport, didn't act the celebrity, so you have to give him credit. I wonder what he really thought of the whole thing. Probably, he considered it another goof. At least he brought some enthusiasm to the team.

I agree Learjet.
Regarding the KII, all I was looking at the whole time was Grant during the first extended session. Look closely. *Every* time the KII went off, his hand was in his pocket playing with something. When it was not going off, his hand was out of his pocket.
To be honest, if people here hadn't noticed that in the past I would never have even looked for that – it is very subtle. But now I am looking, it was clear as day. He was doing it.
The second extended KII session it was not as clear where everyone including Grant was. He was nearby but not sure if he was close enough to be causing it to go off. But, given his track record and what he did earlier in the evening, I really don't have any doubts.

Just when I thought GH couldn't sink any lower, along comes last night's episode. Even if the water bottle and K-II "evidence" was faked, couldn't Jay, Grant, and Meat Loaf put more effort into appearing surprised, delighted, nonplussed, or whatever at what was happening, especially the water bottle? I've seen more enthusiasm and excitement from DMV or post office employees! If something like the water bottle incident happened to me, I'd jump out of pants. But our friends last night had a very ho-hum reaction.
Ask yourself if that makes any sense if no hoaxing was involved. Ask yourself how you would react.
The contempt Jay, Grant, and friends have for their viewers is almost palpable.

In some scenes I'm still torn between them faking it or are just plain stupid. In this take it appears to be the latter. In this scene with the K2 on the little table, you can see Grant waving the K2 over what looks like a wireless mic.
http://yfrog.com/7gk2txmj
This is setting the K2 off quite strongly. Then of all the stupid things to do, he moves it just a few inches further away and proceeds to talk to ghosts? ! What the frigg?
Placing a K2 anywhere near a transmitter is extremely bad practise and just asking for false hits. I'm going to chalk this particular scene up to equipment misuse.

LOL! It was that darn ghost opening and closing that window. I'm positive it wasn't a still-living person outside reaching inside and moving that bottle.
The KII meter drove me nuts, too. "Played along like a good sport" is a good description. That is what they are doing… play-acting. Where are those Ghostly voice recorders they used to be so found of using?
I come away from this episode frustrated, annoyed and asking myself why I bother watching. - I was debating whether I should give up on GH and just watch a more intelligent and thought-provoking show, like Man vs Food. But I do enjoy this website, so I keep torturing myself by watching it.

Oh dear, what a pain! (pun intended).
Just watched the YouTube and either they thought no one would notice or the editors didn't catch it. If so, they need new editors.
I also thought Grant was acting kind of funny; sort of edgy, nervous; hard to find the right words. Seems to me something was being set up.
