The second investigation was not worth comment except that to me the client was giddy that GH was there.

Here's a link to an article written in March 2007.  http://www.post-gazette.com/pg/07087/772944-37.stm.  See paragraphs 14-18 (they are very short paragraphs).  Although it was written in March 2007, it was (and still is) relevant when Lisa Moulder was named Director in mid December 2007 (prior to which she had been the Collection Manager).  One of her responsibilities as Director is the increased promotion and revenue of the property and, in less than a year after her appointment, she accomplished a PR coup by negotiating with an extremely "poplar" television show to feature the Betsy Ross House.  I think this is why she might appear to be "giddy".

Check out her reaction in the press from the local NBC tv station.  The promotion for the Betsy Ross House continues.  Here's the link:  http://www.nbcphiladelphia.com/around_town/the_scene/Ghost-Hunters-invade-Besty-Ross-House.html.

In contrast to what she told NBC, she specifically stated to GH that she had worked there for 8 years and had no experiences herself but had heard other stories, particularly from other Directors, and just wanted to "validate" those stories.  In fact, during the reveal her responses were "This is intriguing, I'd love to learn more" and "I have to admit, I'm a little surprised because I was sort of skeptical in the beginning of this process and so to see evidence that something has definitely occured here really surprises me" flies in the face of her quote to NBC.   Talk about PR and putting a "spin" on it!  And, maybe I missed it, but I don't think at any time J or G actually said the place was haunted.  G, at the end, said to J that they got some activity but not enough to really help them get anywhere.  I almost choked when I heard them say "great case"!

alicat,

Reading the comment section of your second link was like being trapped in a TAPS Orgasmatron.

What's next J&G on the cover of Teen Beat Magazine.

Their demographics must be in the 14 to 18 grouping.

I have to admit, though, we had a good laugh during the analysis when Steve was listening to some sound Tango had found, then said something like, "Good catch, Tango. Once again your ears………………..uh, never mind. Sorry."

To me, it was one of the few real and unscripted moments on the show.  Reminded me a bit of the old days.

I….I'm thinking.

OK – they are setting up the cameras and checking out the angles – but they are still doing it before they cut off the lights and depend on the infrared.
Cut the lights off … THEN decide if you have everything right

Camera 5 shows a giant white blob in the center and a dog or cat in the lower left … and that's acceptable ?

The kII's "on" light ( the leftmost one ) never lights ?

J&G hear things, but don't bother to turn on their audio recorders.

Curious – Amy and Kris are supposed to be in the dark, yet Kris POINTS and says "I thought it was that way".

"Tango and I are going to keep going on the first floor" presuming that they WERE going ( whatever that means ) while the girls were in the attic.

The bed "vibration" turns into a swaying during the reveal ?

Steve kept his hands in his pockets

I thought one of the really good and worthy shows was Frank getting knocked down. Please, can't we hang on to at least this one? Oh, by the way Frank did 20 episodes of GH as sound supervisor(2004-2006). http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0213058/

J & G  think that someone was walking above them, they have the thermal imager in their hands and they DON'T take it upstairs to check it out ?

Any chance you could at least point it up ?

Ami and Kris in the basement asking about an "accident" when one guard SHOT another ?

Steve gets behind the glass and thinks that moving things is the best idea –
Pushing a chair upside down on another could obviously cause some movement as the cushions expand.
Is he playing games again ?

They are definately using production video now as a part of their investigation – Are we supposed to believe that TAPS reviews all the production footage also before the reveal ?

the obvious conclusion is that the show producers now have control not only of what WE see in the show, but actually what GH shows to the client.

I was struck of how low-key they were in this opener. No Steve and Tango running from spiders or other antics, no laughing other than some low-key laughter from Kris and Amy in the attic, no welcome to Amy (the an old friend-routine), J&G walking around looking very somber, with little geist and a somewhat short tone to each other. No pranks, no jokes, no nothing. It's like they try to go back to the early stuff, before all the antics, with the exception that the drive (and fun like in doing stuff you like with people you like) isn't really there anymore and there is some tension in the group.

Btw, it was the first time for quite awhile I heard Grant say his old tagline "We're here to help"…

(Ok, there was this one joke where Steve said that Tango did not know who Betsy Ross was, but it was still low-key. )

When in doubt… figure it out!

Brings up a point I've wondered about. While I can appreciate  you may not want half a dozen people (plus camera crew) following the guide on the opening tour; inevitably you end up with Logistic's 'telephone game'. By the time everyone else has heard the story, it's so dilluted it's barely the same event. Hell, Steve alone, can make you wonder what tour he just took.

EDIT: Now that I think about it, you'd only be adding Tango and the two girls to the walk-through. I'm sure they give guided tours that have more people than TAPS' small group.

I….I'm thinking.

Amid all the "nothingness" of the season opener, I was most struck by how we can hear an "EVP" that sounds like "ssssspssspssss" and TAPS hears the Gettysburg address — and that they can ascertain by two vague EVPS that a place is, undoubtedly, haunted by a male and a female ghost. Who knew it was so easy?

Although this thread is about the season opener, there is a great thread on Frank and the New Bedford Armoury at:

Don't be afraid to resurrect it–we are always interested in someone's ideas on any of the GH episodes.  If you haven't checked it out, I think you will find it very interesting!
