Camille, I posted this with the link in the Spalding Inn "recent comments" section yesterday.  Looks like we are both thinking alike yet we are so far away TX v. NJ!  LOL!  I'm closer to NH and you are closer to CA but I'll bet we both have much better things to do with our $175 or even $99 and one of those things I'm going to do, even in this bad economy, is to splurge on a Starbucks latte!  I think I'll get more satisfaction from that purchase.  Laughing

Wait a minute, they just opened the bar last week.

Can you imagine sitting through 5 hours of TAPS methodologies?

I honestly didn't think it would take that long to learn how to point at alleged shadows in the opposite direction of the camera. Yell

Au contraire my down under friend.
You are not considering the technicalities of putting your head to the floor to listen for vibrations.
The nimbleness needed to insert a coin into a K2 meter.
The correct way of using a sifter.
Not to mention deciphering evp readings, I mean that is learning a whole new language in itself.

I'm sure FLIR and emf detection are reserved for Para 102 and the 4th of July weekend.

I think if the weather was right, I'd go off like J&G did and go snowmobiling for my 5 hours!  I truly don't think any of them could actually talk for 5 hours.  They have a hard time putting sentences together off the cuff.  Perhaps they will read the TAPS website to the group.

Also, notice the wording that J&G will "be on location" for that 2 hr. seminar.  It doesn't say they will be lecturing or even at the lecture - just "on location".  (Even that's an expensive possible M&G! Money mouth)  Gee, if someone wanted to actually "see" J&G, they could just stop by under the pretense of having a drink or dinner, save their money on the lecture, and see J&G wander around the Inn for nothing.  Or they could go to the bar and see them drinking a non-alcoholic drink of course!  Wink

Would be tempted if I lived close, but Texas a looong way from NH.  Tempted, why? Fodder for this forum of course.  Wonder if you get any printed materials?

bllinddog: "The correct way of using a sifter."

Would be interesting/funny if the flour sprinkling methodology taught.  What kind of flour?  Whole wheat, self-rising, buckwheat, rice, or just plain old white flour?  Might make a difference and could eat up some time in that 5 hour "talk." Likely, they will show old episodes.

How much you wanna bet they will have merchandise to purchase on-site?  J & G might autograph your new TAPS T-shirt for a small honorarium. Money mouth

Understood Hannah.  Question:  Has anyone claimed the Alamo haunted?  If not, start the rumor and maybe you can get GH to come and investigate or if not the Alamo, maybe a place in Austin?

Wonder if they would sell mini sifters attached with fishing wire to small bags of flour in the gift shop?  They may not have a gift shop though because you know they said if it has a gift shop it's probably not haunted so that would rule out the Spadling Inn.  Let's see how long it takes one to show up if it hasn't already.  Wink

Wow, old episodes.  Hadn't thought of that.  Okay, given how long each episode actually runs and cutting out all the extras, you might squeeze in at least 2 seasons or maybe more.

Almost positive they have claimed the Alamo haunted, my guys have been there numerous times (they did Texian reenacting also) and the Menger Hotel near there is considered very haunted.  Austin has regular ghost-tours.  Mt. Bonnell has a lot of paranormal stories tied to it.

Alamo "ghost" caught on thermal camera: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DyB8O2yxRr8&feature=related

Our family ranch is in part of the Staked Plains.  We have found numerous arrowheads and a few trade beads.  Yep, its haunted.   Love to see J & G run around with the Longhorn cattle, dodge all the cactus, snakes, and rocks.  Plus have found a lot of meteorites, aliens, yes!, probably aliens all over the place.

The meteorites remind me when we had goats on the land; goat poo-poo can look a lot like a small meteorite. As a kid I collected a lot of goat poo.Laughing

Thanks for the post.  For some reason, in the back of my head after I posted, something said to me that I remembered seeing something about the Alamo being haunted.  After looking at the link you provided about the hotel, which was very interesting, it also provided a link to the Alamo.  I then remembered watching a special on it with a guide explaining all about it's history and the many questions surrounding the historic re-telling of the battle.  I don't remember too much about it but I do remember being so surprised by how built up the area was around it and it's very close proximity to the street.  I guess I expected it to be set back and away from commercial venues but it seemed like it was just another historic building but certainly not the Alamo.

I have only been to the DFW and Houston areas so I haven't travelled too much in Texas but I do remember those spiders and scorpions.  My friend's son got stung by a scorpion trying to call across the ceiling while he was sleeping in an upper bunk bed.  Let's just say, strict instructions were given and there was not one insect/bug around that house a week before or during my entire visit.

I too would love to see J&G, who claim they camp, handle those elements but I think they probably would be in and out so fast, they would only see it through postcards.  Steve, Kris and Amy would never make it.  I can see at least three scenarios involving the goat poo with Steve right now.  One with Tango trying to get him to eat the goat poo and telling him it was something else, one with Steve, when told what it was, jut freaking out and lastly, one with Steve explaining there is this theory …….

The 2 hours of J&G have to mostly be how to rig a parka or a chair with string with maybe a few minutes on the proper way to toss a hanger.     I personally would want the 2 hours to be how to make $$$$ off the PN during a recession.

@StanTheMan,

I don't think they are going to teach anything.  The key to this is that they are only advertised as being "on location".  If they were lecturing/teaching, it would actually be stated.  Wording it in the way they did actually gives them "wiggle room" so if anyone complains they didn't get what they were promised (but actually perceived), they can always point out they were promised J&G would be "on location".

@alicat

Very good point.    Read your comment yesterday and it simply slipped my mind.

Reread the posts and the advertisment also implies that J&G will take questions after.     Is this also some "false" advertising and the other will take the questions?    Most would assume that J&G are answering.

@StanTheMan:  No problem.  So many things posted so fast and I can get lost if I miss a day or two, in fact, even a hour or two can do it for me.  I'm still trying to figure out where I posted something a couple weeks ago and I posted it!  Duh!

As far as classes,  I guess you have to buy the super duper Gold package for more money Money mouth to actually see J&G who appear to only be attending the investigation added to the class: "PLUS Investigation of the Spalding Inn with Jason ,Grant Britt and Syd".
