Looks like Grant's page is back and open again with a last login on March 31.  Big surprise here - he's promoting the Spalding Inn on GH on April 21st!  No reference to paranormal activities but, since they have previously made those claims, it's understood. Here's the entry (minus the picture):

"Hey! The Spalding Inn, Our inn up in Whitefield, NH, is ready to take your room reservations!

So, BOOK A ROOM NOW! and come see why people love this place. Beautiful scenery, peace and quiet, and wonderful food and service.

Click here to book a room!

Here is the website if you'd like to check it out:

thespaldinginn.com

ALSO, watch out for a glimpse of our inn on Ghost Hunters, April 22nd! "

Soooo…he's decided to go public again so he can advertise their Inn.  This guy is just so transparent.  Last I looked the one Mt. Washington engagement was still not sold out.  I suspect their Inn won't be either.

From what I've gathered here nothing had ever been said about the Spaulding being haunted.

I tried clicking on the links above and this popped up on each one.  Hilarious!  Looks like Grant is still having a hard time all around.  I couldn't make this stuff up:

The link you are trying to visit has been disabled.

You have reached a link that is no longer in service. That means the link was very naughty, and, much like head lice, had to be eliminated before it spread.

You may be asking yourself, 'Hey, what was it about that link that got it in trouble?' An excellent question! Usually, it's one of the following reasons:

-      The link was spam! No one likes spammers, and we don't like their links.

-      You almost got phished! There are people out there who want to steal your MySpace password. They want to log in as you and send spam, harass your friends, change your profile, and generally run amok. Phishing pages are usually designed to look like MySpace to trick you. Other sites may also ask for your MySpace login information to customize your profile, insert videos or slide shows, track visitors, or any number of other things.Don't make it easy for them. ONLY USE YOUR MYSPACE LOGIN INFO ON http://WWW.MYSPACE.COM!!

-      Viruses are not fun! Neither is adware, spyware, or malware. We cut the links to places that are known sources of infection.

If you really did want to check out some spam, viruses, or phishing pages, we're really sorry to have interrupted. We're sure you can find it elsewhere. There's plenty on the Internet

Oh my!  I had no idea that would happen.  I just went back on to check it out and it appears Mr. Wilson has "fixed" his problem.  An interesting point that they haven't sold out the event.  Also, I have to wonder what The Mount Washington Resort has to say with them trying to poach potential guests while they are doing at an event at their location which is obviously a hotel/inn.  "Grant"ed The Spalding Inn is not as large as the Resort but I just find that in somewhat poor taste.  Ironically, the Inn website does not list any "events" in their "Events" section but the home page, which is the first thing you see, lists the following as April "events":

" 16th - Grand Opening of The Spalding Inn
This is the first day available for booking.
  17th-
20th
- Beyond Reality Event at Mount Washington Resort
Coming to investigate with the TAPS team at The Mount Washington Resort? If so, why not stay with us?
22nd - The Spalding Inn Featured on Ghost Hunters!
See The Spalding Inn in great detail and hear the reports of activity on Ghost Hunters, Scifi Channel 9pm EST.
  24th-
27th
- Beyond Reality Event at Mount Washington Resort
Coming to investigate with the TAPS team at The Mount Washington Resort? If so, why not stay with us?"

You brought up some good points.  Although maybe the Mt. Washington Hotel is chummy with Jay and Grant-after all, they are making their establishment famous-and doesn't mind the smaller competition for rooms.

According to the TAPS home page, the April 17th event is still not sold out, whereas the later one is.   I find that odd but I'm sure there is a good explanation for it.

Does anyone else have the feeling this business endeavor might not live up to their expectations?  Perhaps it would have helped more if the Inn actually had reports of being haunted, not just their say so.

Here's a 1980s video advertising the Inn.  You don't have to bother watching the whole 11 minutes–to me it's pretty boring but it does show the Inn and its location.  However, absolutely NO mention of any hauntings.  That seems to be an invention of Jay and Grant to try and pull in customers.

I think your right.  In this economy, even the most rabid fans have financial limits.  Plus a Google search comes up with nada, except pages of Jason and Grant saying. . ."Rumor has it the Inn and carriage house are haunted and a bunch of people have already told us about past experiences."

“[It] is a haunted inn, and we’re just getting ready to finalize everything on it,” Hawes said.

Strange, you think that one of the "bunch" would have put something on the internet.

Hannah, good observation.

"Reported to be haunted" – by whom?

"Said to be haunted" – by whom?

And who are the bunch of people that seemed to have them convinced the place COULD be haunted?

We want sources.  Articles, interviews, anything.  Instead we get maybe, could, might be….

It's going to take more than the words of Jay and Grant to prove that there is even any indication of possible haunted activity, especially since I watched a boring 11 minute promo made in the 1980s video which made no mention whatsover of this possibility.

Or do they think just their names alone will fill the rooms?  Only time will tell.
