I've been lurking but thought I'd post an article Grant wrote about the K2 meter:

http://www.the-atlantic-paranormal-society.com/articles/general/kii.html

Not stellar, maybe not even worthwhile, but FYI nonetheless…he knows we're on to him!

First off, hello and welcome.

Hmmm…the TAPS articles section I see.  I find when I'm down or depressed, I will turn to that section and start reading the articles.  Always amusing.  Always puts a smile on my face.

As for Grant "knowing that we're on to him"…well, something tells me he isn't a frequent visitor here.  When one has legions of admirers, why bother with a few heretics?

But you know, I wish he did post here.  Just once.  All he would have to say is "How can we better the show?"  You know how long that thread would be?  Can you imagine all the insanely good ideas?  And perhaps the first….chuck that K2 meter as farrrrrrr as you can throw it.  Laughing

Hello and thanks for posting the link.

Sounds like Grant is doing a TAPS CYA.

"It would seem, and we still aren't firm believers yet (if ever), that you can instruct an entity to approach the device and the device will respond to an entity which is in close proximity to the device."

They are getting awfully excited with the silly thing blinks then, if they aren't firm believers (if ever).   Can we hope that they will ditch the K-2, Frank's box and the newest mess, the geo-phone?

For kicks went over to the TAPS board and found this thread (http://www.taps18forum.com/index.php?topic=100871.0) with a really interesting question: "Ghost Hunters out there . . . would you say that GH is a good representation of what actually happens during an investigation? "

Not a long thread only a page, but with some really interesting responses.  I loved this one and germane to stangtexan's topic:  "Well, from some shows you definitely learn what NOT to do!  Cheesy

But yeah…I personally find the equipment recommendations on both GH and GHI interesting.  True, some of the stuff in my opinion, *coughK2cough* is useless, but I was still able to see it in action, and then research it further on my own and come to my own conclusions."

Brit's box can go (I assume you are meaning the audible EMF detector?) There's nothing really wrong with the geophone other than misusing it. Same with the K2. I would lean more towards using the geophone to detect human contamination if they leave equipment setup unattended. If they insist on using the K2, I'd love to see a grid of them set up, instruct the entity to approach one particular one, and see if the others light up as the entity passes them as it approaches the indicated one. Simple experiment but more scientific than anything I've seen them do yet.

Would it prove anything? Not necessarily, other than that the group might actually be setting up some experiments from which we might gain something other than a supposed conversation :)

Brit's box can go, also.  Frank's box: the telephone to the dead.

Maybe it is just because I am gizmo challenged; that I would like to see most of it thrown out the window.

However, I love your idea, of  experimentation with the K2 to a. see if an interference response and b. would be harder for intentional interference to be used.

Bang head on wall. Mumble to self. . . its Paranormal State, not Ghost Hunters.

Whew! Thanks for the above post, I had started digging through episodes trying to figure out where that made an appearance :) I did do a bit more reading about it and I think we should keep your "it can go" statement active, sort of as a preemptive strike just in case they DO start using it!
