To me a random location would be where the team walks into the house, has no clue what's going on and decides to set up a fixed camera pointed at the microwave for no reason at all. Client suggested would be where they point it at the refrigerator because that's where they heard the name "Zul"
I see where we are missing – My suggestion that random appears to turn up much better results is not simply random placement of a static camera – we have no data to compare.
My randomness includes both the position and the time and length of the visual capture – the production and handhelds fullfill all that criteria, and we have results to compare.
An example might be the Ft. Henry episode itself. The handheld camera was placed in the bakery at a random time with the expectation it would be moved shortly should nothing happen – the production camera was random in both position and time until something happened.
The static camera in the bakery, and the other static cams set out added nothing to the Ghost Huntiigating.
