I just noticed that Grant posted on his MySpace page that he is now on Twitter:
"Check out what I am up to: twitter.com/grantswilson"

Actually, that's perfect for Grant. Twitter only allows 140 characters and every sentence that he utters is well below that:
"What the frig?"
"I just heard something."
"I just saw a shadow."
"Something just touched me."
"Yes, this place is haunted."
"Yes, we do accept Visa."
Like I said, it's perfect for him.

All I can say about these people being on Twitter, especially J&G, is….WHEN!!!! do they have the time??? I am retired but I am still so busy, I don't even have the time to go on there, and just to say what I'm doing?!? Actually I'm just taking a break right now from cleaning windows, washing rugs, cleaning kitchen floor, etc etc etc.

phillyk48: I've never gotten into Twitter and don't haved a clue about all of it except that your are limited, as Renevant states, to 140 characters. However, I can say, it's another way to publicize the Inn. I think you can safely say both of the Mrs. are doing the windows, rugs, floor, etc., etc. at home. We've already seen them spend their time snowmobiling (although that's not to say they didn't do "work" at the Inn). I seriously doubt they are still actually "working" for Roto Rooter but I could be wrong. They could be listed as employees on the clock - that's up to the company but with national advertising given at no cost to RR, I am skeptical as it's a win/win for both. Why do technician work when they get GH pay as cast and producers? They also seem to be at a lot of Sci Fi events, TAPS events, press conferences, guest appearances, award shows, etc.
My guess is J&G fly to GH locations and crew actually drive their Yukons to a specific location where J&G take over from there. Think about it, we only see what they want us to see and that is usually them w/Kris setting up the location right before they "arrive". They really seem to have a lot of down time when you think about it. They show up, investigate for a few hours and then you don't see them until the evidence presentation. They spend a short time with the client due to little or no evidence and then they declare a place haunted or with paranormal activity and then drive away! The most time it seems they've spent has been on the disasterous Halloween specials. That's it!

Think Alicat hit it on the nose: more (FREE) advertising for Spalding Inn and looks like more hype for the show.
Okay, went and peeked. Jason is posting pictures of himself and his dog-a beautiful German Shepherd. Also posted a pic of his very expensive looking coffee pot–though the time on the coffeemaker (looks like 8:33) and the time he posted the pic (4:50 am) are way off. Funny, happens to their film footage also!

I was kinda being sarcastic when I said what I did…but you're right alicat, they have a lot of "down time". Only reason I sort of knew what Twitter was is a friend of mine asked me to join, so I did…only typed one thing when I joined and havent been there since LOL….no time and not interested. But I bet the die-hard fans are just eating it up.

Oh Hannah! Say it isn't so. Do I see the beginnings of the GH dog? Is Jason laying the foundation? If you follow him, you've got to let us know if he claims the dog has those "special abilities".

My German Shepherd leaps up and barks randomly at things only she can hear several times a day. Even saying certain words sets her off. (Like 'shhhh' or 'hello' or 'dog' or 'look') If Jason's dog is anything like mine, they'll have more 'ghost hits' than they can handle.

Just went to peek but ended up reading the whole darn thing, then checked Grant's & Tango's. Jason seems to twitter more often. Tango the least amount.
I was at first convinced, before I looked, that it was probably underpaid assistant(s) putting a few sentences on just to hype the show and the Inn. They also have counters. Easy feedback to see how many people are checking it out, thus how effective it is for advertising. Very clever!
Jason has 3,576 followers; Grant 2,605, Tango 442.
Alicat, didn't dawn on me about the dog. LOL!
Alicat: "My guess is J&G fly to GH locations and crew actually drive their Yukons to a specific location where J&G take over from there. "
Think your right Alicat! Grant was complaining (2 hours ago) about having to do the Continental /Newark connection twice tomorrow. Will be interesting if Jason mentions it.

@ Hannah, those figures are interesting. I'm guessing Grant hasn't been on Twitter as long as Jason since he just put it on his MySpace. Tango, on the other hand, is probably busy working since he certainly does not have the income of J or G and is probably working with Steve on the Next Generation series. I overheard on a doctor's office tv this morning someone say that Barbara Walters has over 300,000 and Sheri Sheppard (?) over 60,000 – not that I think J or G are in Walters' league but I'm guessing the numbers will go quite high for them.
I'm also guessing that given how none of them watch what the other says and they seem to contradict each other at times, we will find that eventually loose lips sink ships! (Boy does that date me! LOL!)

We can only hope!
Grant's Twitter:
@grantswilson do you guys still work as plumbers ??? be honest :-)about 4 hours ago from web in reply to grantswilson
@Twittin_Freak the honest answer is yes, just not nearly as much. We still work for Roto Rooter. The show just takes a LOT of time.
Okay, who is gonna volunteer and sign up for Twitter? The we need to think of a good question or two before they stop answering.

Hannah my fellow investigator! Here's some background information from the State of Rhode Island. I checked with the license department and neither J or G is licensed. You may want to snoop around and confirm it but you will find it to be true. I checked on Providence where they initially said they worked out of and then Warwick, followed by a sweep of the entire State by name. I also double checked Roto Rooter to see if they held a license in the State that they could work under. They do not. As you can see, even if they were licensed in another state, they would have to take the exam and be licensed in RI to work.
"Plumber's Licenses
You need a license to do plumbing work in Rhode Island. To get an application, contact:
 |
Rhode Island Department of Labor and Training Division of Professional Regulation Building 70 1511 Pontiac Ave. P.O. Box 20247 Cranston, RI 02920-0943 (401) 462-8580 Fax: (401) 462-8528 http://www.dlt.state.ri.us/profregs/ |
The Department issues master and journeyman plumber licenses. You have to pass an exam for either license. For a master license you also need to have five years experience and hold a journeyman license for at least one year. If you have a master license in another state that you got by passing an exam, you can use it to qualify to take the Rhode Island exam."
Here is the link to check out RI plumber licenses: http://www.dlt.ri.gov/profregsonline/PlumbInqPage.aspx
If you click on the Back to Menu button, it will take you to all different types of licenses. There is a Joshua Hawes (a relative, no doubt – same middle initial – probably a brother?) in Warwick but it is not Jason primarily because he didn't live in Warwick (if he ever did) in 1997 when the license was issued. And, no, it's not an assumed name because all his legal docs are under Jason C. And, there is no license for Grant either.
So, my question would be "how can you call yourself a plumber when you hold no license in Rhode Island which is required by law?" I doubt you'll get a response but it will put it out in the Twitter world. I would also put it on Jason's.

Good question. . .was thinking more along the lines of something they would not see as confrontational, but could possibly trip them up. I know nothing about Twitter, whether they can delete something they do not want seen. . .does anyone know?
However, perhaps "I have a cousin who is a plumber in RI and he says you guys are not licensed with the state. . .so I am curious as to whether my cousin is just being an ass or what?

Hannah, sounds good. Maybe there are others with questions. It's interesting that the plumbers union (which there must be) has not called them on this. My guess is, as along as we don't see them actually doing any plumbing on tv, they can't do much about the assertion. But somehow, presenting oneself as what you are not, seems like fraud to me. I guess that probably would only apply if they showed up at a job and proclaimed it though. I have to think about that some more. But, if you check the records, you can clearly see they are not what they appear to claim.

Have not checked it yet, alicat, no real need too.
Am currently trying to get an account with Twitter–a real pain to find a decent username.
Aliccat and I, co-investigators need more volunteers to sign up and think of questions. Grant going on flight tomorrow and might twitter a lot out of boredom.

Like being a legitimate Ghost Hunter ?
Now if their AFTRA (American Federation of Television and Radio Artists) cards were not up to date, they would have a problem …

Geeze, why did you go and say that? LOL! I was just putting everyone to bed and turning off the computer. I'll get on that tomorrow!
And "Like being a legitimate Ghost Hunter ?"
Well, I don't think they need a license for being a legit Ghost Hunter but duly noted, you are correct!
