This was a Myspace bulletin from Jason:
In case you have not heard.
Ghost Hunters/ TAPS was ordered for a 5th season which will start airing in March of 2009.
Now thats not the newest news.
The most recent news is that Ghost Hunters/TAPS was already ordered for 6th season airing in 2010.
That is right, you heard it correctly.
2 More years of TAPS doing what we love to do.
Also Ghost Hunters International will return for a 2nd season as well with our friends Rob, Dustin and Barry, also another TAPS member will be showing his face on upcoming episodes.
Also we are working on another show that we will be airing that is another spin off of Ghost Hunters.
The new show right now is being called Ghost Hunters: New Generation.
There will be 6 episodes of this show to start.
We are putting Steve and Tango heading it up. they will training students who will accompany them on paranormal investigations.
Now no worries! Ghost Hunters is not being replaced, it is just another spin off.
Also Steve and Tango will also still be on the original Ghost Hunters as well.
We look forward to being around for more years to come. Thanks for everyones loyalty and support. We could not have done this without you all! Please spread the word!

Steve teaching tech ?
This will be funny the first time he picks up his Sperry EMF-200a meter ( not the KII ghostphone) and talks about spiriits manipulating the earth's magnetic field.
Unless the earth's field has developed a fluctuation between 30-400 hz, that meter will never see it.
from the manufacturer – http://www.awsperry.com/sperry/catalog?item=emf-200a
BTW – beware of your outlets …from his tutorial – http://jointhehunt.scifi.com/tutorials/SteveGonsalves/using-an-emf-detector/2008/11/07/intro
"For instance, electrical outlets, which leak power into their surroundings, can discharge an energy burst that can be picked up by an EMF detector."
"discharge an energy burst " ?
This is just so wrong in so many ways ….

I'd like to discharge an energy burst right into Steve's solar plexus.

One of the highest sources of "EMF" is a CRT TV set. Therefore on the recommendation of Steve's tutorial it is best that one does not watch Ghost Hunters lest they fall victim to "blotchy vision, headaches, dizziness, mild hallucinations and more".

I guess it's better to have Steve teaching tech rather than history. As I recall his facts about the underground railroad were a bit off.

Hee hee hee! "Get her!" That was your whole plan, huh, "get her." Very scientific.

Yeah, he said that you could still see the rails that the train used in the underground railroad. Not a huge deal, but it did sort of disturb me that he was passing this off to the other members as if it were true simply because he thought it was true. Makes me wonder what else he makes up.

LO,
You love it and you know it.
About time for J&G to channel Madame Blavatsky and get some new program ideas.
Or else lay off the green olives for awhile.

Seems like the truth won't set you free, but makes for good television and more episodes.
Wonder how many will be watching just to see possible slip ups and more "evidence" that we are supposed to take on their say so.
I'm just wondering how much more like Most Haunted the show is going to get. They are certainly on their way to imitating Yvette, Karl and company. Pebbles, anyone? Soon Steve might be packing a ouija board–no wait! They already have a handheld electronic one!

I wonder how many spiders will be investigated on the new spin-off?
Why would they send in Shaggy and Scooby to investigate with kids? Who knows… maybe they will find out that ghosts and zombies are just Grant and Jason in disguise and every episode will end with, "I would have gotten away with it, if it wasn't for you meddling kids."

I suggest that the reviews of the new show include a "cringe-meter." Whenever:
Steve lets loose with a "there's a theory (that ghosts are attracted to the color green) … "
or when he gets some basic facts wrong … "The Civil War lasted 50 years … "
or when he flirts with the inevitable pretty girl trainee … "Oh, these tattoos?"
or when we see Steve challenge Tango to eat or touch something …
… it registers 2 points on the cringe meter. (3 points if Steve asks Tango to eat a green spider under the theory that it would attract ghosts).
I'm predicting the average show will register 6-8 points on the cringe meter.
