Ok, time for a little fun, especially for those of us who like spirits with a whole lot of proof. (Someone has probably done this already. Great ideas can be shared.) Please feel free to suggest additional rules!

The Ghost Hunters Drinking Game:

Sip for each irritating music cue that turns out to be an anticlimax.

Sip for each bizarre question asked of a ghost.

Sip for each exciting apparition which takes place just out of view of the camera.

Sip each time someone says, "What was that?"

Sip each time a team member reads out normal EMF background readings in an excited tone of voice.

Sip whenever TAPS misuses equipment.

Do a shot each time an explanation starts with "some people believe" or "it is believed"…

Do a shot for each EVP that you can only understand while looking at the subtitles.

Do a shot each time a team member breaks a promise to a spectral entity.

Do a shot each time Grant says "What the fej?!"

Do a shot whenever Steve feels something crawling on him.

Do a shot whenever Jay and/or Grant fail to recognize their own reflections or shadows, especially on FLIR.

Do a shot whenever someone falls over and blames it on invisible entities.

Do a shot when TAPS seems on the verge of uncovering proof, then calls it quits because of the irresistable call to "wrap it up".

For GHI: Do a shot whenever someone speaking perfect English gets subtitled.

Chug each time an object moves shakily on its own toward Grant's last known position.

Chug whenever Pilgrim Productions decides that the show isn't exciting enough on its own and decides to add their own artistic and/or editorial touch.

Drink all the alcohol in your home as rapidly as possible, then call a taxi to continue the binge in your local haunted hotel, whenever the Ghost Hunters produce compelling, verifiable evidence of paranormal phenomena.

Updated: Added special GHI subtitling rule.

Do a shot whenever we get a shot of Kris's butt.

It's too bad they seem to have cut back on Steve's phobias this season…..you'd be drunk before Grant could tell us what an EVP is.

I….I'm thinking.

Oh man, we did this for "24" around Season 3, and it was freaking hilarious. I love this stuff. Man, I wish Harnois was still on GH!!!

Too bad they don't get this live up here in Canada. Ok, lemme think…

-Drink every time Kris tosses/plays with her hair

-Drink every time anyone high fives, high tens, or knocks fists to celebrate anything

-Drink anytime someone from the production crew accidentally gets in the background, and somebody – from the cast or anywhere else – insists that it's paranormal. Do two shots if they don't catch it but you do.

-Drink whenever anyone swears and has to be beeped out.

-Drink anytime anyone thinks they saw something dart across the screen and don't even consider that it could possibly be an animal

But that's just nitpicking – you guys covered it all otherwise! The funniest was, "do a shot for every EVP you can't understand without subtitles." I was dying!

A shot everytime:

Jay starts a reveal with, "you know what we did …

He tells Grant, "that went well."

A promo for an upcoming show fails to deliver.

Cheers!

These are just little silly ones, but my husband and I always do 'em:

Both: Drink whenever anyone mentions that a ghost has been spotted in "period clothes" or "period dress"

GHI: Drink whenever Brian sees something that nobody else does (this will happen every episode)

GHI: Drink whenever Andy appears wearing some sort of geeky gadget, like his arm flashlight or back cell phone holster

Both: Drink steadily the entire time the client is asking their version of the producer-mandated question, "So, would you say this place is haunted?"

Love the EVP one and the "Well, you know what we did …"! :)

I used to drink and curse everytime I heard "electromagnetic force or EMF." Now, I just let it go and chuckle a little to myself.

YOU AND ME both. Or should I say, "Me and you"? That has always irritated me. You probably noticed in the more recent shows, J does use proper grammar. Someone must have told him.

My suggestion: Take a swig everytime someone explains what 'EVP" stands for.

I absolutely love it- I just recently discovered Ghost Hunters (public library DVDs and online).  I watched out of interest in ghostly phenomenon, but it now it is mostly for the characters and locations and the fun of seeing them so surprised whenever they get a what seems to be a response. Umm, if they've been investigating hauntings for so long, wouldn't you expect a little less surprise and a little more matter-of-fact "Ok, thank you, we heard you" ?

I loved your list.  Here's my additions:

- A shot every time someone says "That's crazy!"

- A shot every time the camera is pointing somewhere else when a ghost is seen.

I'll add more another time-

This sounds like a great party with a big screen.

I will have to add I think we must rank the drinks per the situation.  Based on drinking a spirit + beer, if you substitute you must drink equal % of alchy.  Laughing

1- One drink of Beer

2- One drink (note: not sip) of Spirit.

3- One full beer or one full shot.

4- A shot + half a beer (if you drink 12's 6oz, if you drink 40's 20oz no acceptions)

5- One shot + Full Beer

6- Two shots + Full Beer

7- Three shots.

8- Chuge what is left in the bottle of spirit, and four beers in a row.

9- Puke.

I found the rank system better than a drink for everything, a friend and I once made the mistake of doing a drinking game to "Jay and Silent Bob Strick Back," just one of the rules were to drink everytime someone says the F word.  I was drinking Captain Morgan Private Stock (straight), 50%, but I kept true to the rules.

For those of you who have seen that movie, you understand how I ended up that night.  Those of you who have not seen the movie, well, the F-word is said about 50 times in the opening seen of the movie.

I can see how the game could definitely numb the agony of watching the show but I’d also pay to see the TAPS team imbibe in similar festivities before going out on an investigation.

Maybe G would think he was invisible as he stumbled around doing his deeds–Giving a whole new meaning to "The Reveal" Laughing

Given Grant's religious affiliations– he's a member of the LDS Church, AKA the Mormons– I don't think he'll be drinking along with us. So I don't think we'll get our confirmation that way. :)

T.A.Sharps: I'm all for a better scale in drinking games, being a novice in their construction. Put up your suggestions, and we'll see if we can't make this a little more playable. At some point I'll do a revamped edition including everyone's excellent suggestions.

I honestly didn't know that. Sorry, no insult to Mormons intended (just a joke) as whether he drank or not it would never happen anyway. AA

Come on, 19 prior posts and no one has said:  Drink every time they show Dustin with his visor on upside down??????  Maybe that one is too hard, it's hard to drink while laughing hysterically.  You just waste good beer by spitting it out your nose.

Patrick makes a good point – time to include GHI in the mix. How about:

Every time Robb says they approach things from a skeptical or scientific viewpoint, and then wets his pants over someone seeing a shadow.

Every time Barry pulls out the "full-spectrum" camera.

Every time Joe Chin looks confused.

Every time the GHI team butchers the name of the location they're at.
