Well, the new Steve and Tango show will premier in the 10-11 pm time slot on Wednesday, November 11, 2009. Yes, it is taking the Destination Truth time slot as DT will be wrapping up their season the previous week.
The new show has now been re-titled: "Ghost Hunters Academy". Pilgrim does not have it listed on their own site as of this date so here's the new Syfy site: http://www.syfy.com/gha/
The descripition is: "Ghost Hunters Academy features a group of college students, led by seasoned TAPS investigators Steve Gonsalves and Dave Tango, who search for the paranormal in haunted hotspots around the country and around the world."
Interesting they include the words "around country and around the world". I'm curious of how Steve will handle "the world" aspect when he's afraid to fly even here in the U.S.
I guess the biggest question is: will "Ghost Hunters Academy" actually fly? We'll have to wait 2 months to see.

Maybe Steve will explain what an "Electro" field is ?
Have you checked out the "Gear Guide" which is the replacement for the defunct "JoinTheHunt" site ?
http://video.syfy.com/shows/ghosthunters/steves_gear_guide#/white-noise-generator/v124406
They seem to have removed the more bizzare statements of Steve's regarding the equipment, but I'm hoping that in the Academy he will actually show and explain how they use a white noise generator "to help filter out unwanted noises during our playback"

Hmmm….a chance for Steve to get some college girl play? LOL
Really, this should be stunning. I mean, how many more GH spin-off's can Pylgrim come up with? Oh well, let's look at it this way. Yet another show for us to dissect every week!

I don't know if I can handle that, I already have my hands full dissecting the original underground train wreck LOL By the way, I think it might be Pylgrym :)

Maybe this week was a set-up for giving Meatloaf his own GH spin-off – GH Old Rockers. Could have Ozzie, Ron Woods and a few others get high and search for the ghosts of old musicians. Week 1 could be the worldwide search for Elvis, week 2 could be at the grave of Jim Morrison, etc. The possibilities are endless.

Perhaps Steve and Tango can investigate the ghosts at the Haunted Mansion at Disney World for one episode. I've heard there are 999 ghosts in that one location alone! Those EVP's will go crazy.

This is going to be a hoot. Steve, who seems to despise learning and brags that he only reads one book, teaching a bunch of people who read lots of books. Interesting.
What gets me is that so many think this type of investigating is so difficult. It's not rocket science, for cryin' out loud. Hey, just read that same book that Steve did and you basically have it down pat.
Then again, maybe this will outdo GH. If the membership on their website is any indication, they are rapidly sliding downhill.
Maybe it will become a contest in terms of popularity. Jason & Grant vs. Steve & Tango. I'll watch just to see how this will play out.

I can't wait to see the show, hopefully my sister records it for me.
I really don't thinkthey can spin off any more shows from GH, unless they do one with the girls, however, I don't think that will happen. Why, cause Jason and Grant need some eye candy for the fan boys.
Pilgrim sooner or later is going to sink the showthat feeds it. And by the way, how are they going to go to other places outside of the US? Steve flat out refuses to fly, so that's not going to work.I guess it will have to be Dave and crew. And if these are college kids, how are they going to do this if they have classes except for like spring and winter breaks?

Sorry HollyDolly, I don't think Pilgrim is worried about that at all. They have 36 shows in production at present with even more in the pipeline. They already produce the very successful Dirty Jobs, American Chopper and Greensburg just to name a few so GH is not their bread and butter.

Oh yeah, Alicat,I forgot about American Chopper. Wasn't even sure they were produced by the same people. By the way, what is the show Greensburg about? I may have to check it out on the web.
Wonder if Steve's only book is Playboy?

Agreed. The most irritating thing about Steve——other than his Nancy Boy fear of bugs—–is that he's as dumb as a compost heap and seems very proud of it.

Harry, I'm not quite sure I'd go that far. Steve, to some, may not be the brightest bulb and he may not care to read or go further, but he's young, a celebrity of sorts, obviously happy and did get himself on a popular TV series and now his own series, GH Academy. I would give him a little more credit because he's probably pulling down more dollars and travelling to more places (even via the road) than most of us here even if he only accomplished this by association. I'm thinking that's not bad for someone considered "as dumb as a compost heap".
I do have to agree with you though about his fear of bugs but I think most of that irritation should be attributed and directed to Pilgrim's editing. I'm guessing they thrive on editing those scenes into each episode.

I can't wait for the sailing scenes that will be spliced in showing Steve going international. Oh right, fear of boats or water or something…maybe they will put him in stasis.
Or, maybe his little standing up to the bugs in the Pines episode and telling Tango to do the same is a foreshadowing of the great cure that will be worked on him so that Pylgrym can figure out how to get him overseas for international hunts.
As Alicat alluded to, I wonder how much we see, be it bugs, be it fear of flying, be it that duh attitude, is really just how he's supposed to portray himself for the show. For having a fear of boats, he sure didn't seem to have any trouble taking the jet boat out to the Isle of Pines, now, did he????

Obviously no fear of needles either.
People have asked me if I am a fan of GH.
I reply that "I'm not so much of a fan, but I have watched long enough that I can remember when Steve only had one tattoo."
