The mid-season finale
( what the heck does that mean anyway ? – will this season be only 16 episodes ? )
Will the GH crew finally debunk a business that makes it's money renting itself out to ghost hunters ?

I am looking forward to the morgue drawer scene. It would be really cool if they put Steve inside, along with a few spiders.

What are they going to do if they add a canine member and they find out Steve is frightened by dog poo.
A fear that was caused by a horrible childhood incident.
I always laugh when Steve goes through his litany of fears, but finishes by saying he's not scared of ghosts.
Maybe, Steve, it's because you've never found one.
GH mid-season finale…GA redux.

LOL, Scene 1, Just after going dark, Steve and Tango walk into a Web. Cut to Studio Shot of Steve.
Steve: "I'm afraid of spiders. Bugs of any kind, really. I'm also afraid of flying. Don't like Bats. Hate to Read…."
37 minutes later
Steve: "…Boats, Big Dogs, Black Cats, Small Rocks, Ladders, Step Stools…"
Director: "You wanna finish it up there, Steve, Tango just finished the Analysis and we still need to shoot the Reveal"

I see the camera ghost is back.
But really, in a place that is not secure and could be contaminated by squatters, all their evidence counts for zero.
Not to mention the wind! Grant in an interview hears noises from above and says "it's not really windy so I don't know what's making that noise". Well Grant, Amy and Chris find window blinds rattling in the wind a little later in the show that spook them.

What an interesting idea.

The headcam was, um, interesting. Loved how he heard 'voices', was worried about being lost, and then Steve and Tango came bopping around the corner.
Also, the EVP. I could NOT hear where the 'ghost' said 'ch…. ildren.' HUH??? Why not 'ch…eetos'? Or 'ch…ihuahas'? Don't you just love watching the people straining to hear these 'voices' and then Jay or Grant TELLS them what is being said, and they go, 'Oh, yeah. NOW I hear it.'
*rolls eyes*
The morgue room was a big disappointment, too. Not a single bug.

OK, I am going to risk ridicule here but I think that, for once, their method of splitting up investigators into various teams worked out well this time. Though I still would like to see Jay and Grant each go with one of the lesser members, it seemed to be a nice mix. Since Steve and Tango are the comic relief, you know they are not going to split those two up. Also good to see Joe Chin. Don't know enough about Britt to make a judgment at this time. And Amy: I still can't see where she adds anything to the mix. Most of the time it's Kris that either hears or sees something or has to often tell Amy to keep quiet. Kris also seems braver than her partner. Brandi from GHI is a much better investigator. Just my two cents.
I have one word for most of the noises they heard: RATS For reasons which I won't go into as it brings back bad memories, I consider myself somewhat of an expert on the various ways rats have of getting around unseen and producing sounds that can make one believe that a human (or entity?) is trying to communicate. Spent enough time two years ago, also during the winter, to have gotten my fill of their abilities. 'Nuff said.
As my husband noted, Steve and Tango lay the wrong way on the slabs in the morgue. In most cases people were put in feet first so that they could immediately be identified without having to pull out the slab all the way. Use common sense, GH!
EVPs that probably were random sounds. A camera that slowly fell to the ground. Other than the blinds in the wind–not much debunking going on at all.
And yes, a headcam! Do you think some of them may have been reading our posts? Some here have been calling for headcams for quite some time. Although why such a strange looking one is beyond me. And if it's as heavy as Britt claimed, they need to go back to the drawing board or use equipment already available.
I'm still trying to wrap my head around Jason calling this, if memory serves, the most haunted place they've been in (or was it scary?). What about the Stanley Hotel? This place trumps that one? I find that very hard to believe.

Britt has to be in on the con as well.
The camera points down the hallway as Britt hears a noise, showing nothing of course, then it cuts to Britt who suddenly proclaims that he sees something moving from left to right. The camera swings down the hallway to see the usual nothing! The timing is just too convenient, as always! How many times have we seen this happen?
Thus cometh the inspiration for this week's comic strip.

Seems like they may be setting up the Halloween live episode (if the place is still around then) …among the logical flaws in this episode: as pointed out, the supposed lack of wind and then the shutters clacking in what is obviously a stiff breeze (and if the wind was generating that much noise with the shutters, what other noises could be attributed to it and the anmals that almost certainly are in the building)? Second flaw was when Steve and Tango walk up on Britt after he reported hearing footsteps — aren't they supposed to stay clear of other investigators to avoid noise contamination? If Britt hadn't seen them, would the TAPS crew taken that as "evidence" … and doesn't that put all the supposed sound of footsteps we keep hearing about in question?
… and it seemed that me that Jay and Grant weren't too enthused about the headcam. Thoughts?

Wes - and it seemed that me that Jay and Grant weren't too enthused about the headcam. Thoughts?
Of course they aren't. If there is an actual camera pointing in the direction they are looking, how will they ever be able to say, "Did you see that?" without the audience thinking, "No, can't say as I did."
I also noticed how the camera man had his camera pointed DOWN the hall, right up to the point that Britt yelled and pointed that he saw a ghostly figure. At that exact time, (amazingly enough) the camera man was pointing his camera directly at Britt, and NOT down the corridor.

I agree. I thought the EXACT same thing all episode. They even described it as "a scurrying sound" a few times.

Before it comes up, Tango was correct in asking Steve if the man who "ate the entire bed" was from France:
http://www.reuters.com/article/lifestyleMolt/idUSTRE51F3FP20090216?pageNumber=1&virtualBrandChannel=0
Apparently Michel Lotito, from France, throughout the years, has eaten 128 bicycles and 2 beds. (insert very clever and funny joke here).
I also thought it was odd that the microphone that supposedly moved off the platform on the floor with Steve and Tango wasn't used in the reveal. Yes, there could be obvious explanations for it. Yet, I considered it infinitely more solid than J&G' hearing a scream that isn't captured on audio and Britt and Joe Chin's shadow that isn't caught on video.

- I thought it was shown. Twice. Maybe I am mistaken. Vast quantities of Dr. Pepper is sometimes thought to cause viewers of Ghost Hunters to hallucinate. (Not really, but if Grant can make things up, so can I)

I believe you are correct, Mary. I thought I saw the mike incident during the reveal.
@ Oubliette
I'll go out on that limb with you. I liked much of what TAPS did. I thought it was one of their better episodes in a while. It was nice to see the Clown Team actually do some ghost hunting. I like Britt; he seems sincere in what he's doing. So does Chin.
However, I also agree with you that most of the noises could be attributed to rats, wind, and other natural causes. The EVPs? Eh, whatever. There were some interesting moments. Unfortunately, 'Ghost Hunters' has simply lost too much crediblity with me. …That's an odd statement to make about a group of plumbers looking for ghosts – there shouldn't have been any in the first place… but while I never expected them to find anything, I thought they were sincere. Now: I question every claim.

Hmmm, you know, maybe I was the one hallucinating. I was cooking at the time so maybe I turned my head for a second. Or…the EMF's were so high in the kitchen that it was creating a fear cage and I was seeing things, or really, not seeing things. EMF's are so mysterious like that…
And is this the first time Steve and Tango ever presented physical evidence? I know they've been touched (or at least Steve has made that claimed), seen shadows, and heard things, but physical evidence as in something has supposedly moved with them in the room?
