Tunnel Investigation Outtake
http://www.hulu.com/watch/6300/ghost-hunters-tunnel-investigation#s-p14-st-i1

I was perusing through some of the short clips on Hulu and found this one. Jay's hand moves suspiciously in sink with the knocking sound at least two times. The first occurrence is at 26 seconds in. Watch Jay's left hand clearly go up to the wall and his fist move sharply against it. He immediately says to Grant, "did you hear that?. Grant says it came from the opposite direction. Then at 40 seconds in Jay again appears to knock his left hand against a counter. You can see his hand move in time with the knocking sound.

If this is really him making the knocking sound, their producers must not even pay attention to the footage or have knowledge of what looks like faked sounds. What do you guys think?

Every GH knocking noise is suspicious to me.  There was one time (it may have been the '08 Live Halloween show) where it looked like Grant's shadow was knocking on the wall. Every time there was a knocking sound, the camera would pan over to Jason then back to Grant for the reaction shot. It made me laugh.

The outtakes/deleted scenes have provided a wealth of information to show that you can't really trust anything that you're seeing in the episodes. I found one for Gaither Plantation that has a deleted scene of the gals in the church and discovering a bat. The exact footage is used in the broadcast version but it is shown as happening when Steve and Tango are investigating. That which we see is not necessarily that which actually happened. Given that precedent, the entire show and any evidence shown us has to be taken with a grain of salt and is proof of nothing.

Good catch!  It sure does look like Jason knocks on the wall, while Grant points to the opposite direction–to throw the viewers attention the other way????  Jay's movements corresponds way too much to the knocks.  I want to say "maybe" about him doing it, but–wow, if I were a betting person, you can guess which side my bet would be on.  At :40 it's almost a definite, with Grant maybe providing the final knocks after that.

Bet Jay thought he wasn't in camera range since in the dark it's very hard to tell who or what is being filmed.

This is typical Most Haunted behavior, but at least they do it better.  Yet I can remember how critical and rude Jay and Grant were to Yvette when she was a guest on their radio show.  Now it looks like they have been borrowing quite a few pages from MH's book.

ghcritic–IMO, you get the "catch of the year" so far.  I have become very critical of them at this point and it may color my judgment.  Wish I could download and really slow this down but alas, my dwhelper won't cooperate.  Again, very observant.  Congrats!

I'm sort of "bumping" this thread up because I'm wondering if someone has the software to perhaps capture and analyse this clip.   I've tried but just can't do it.  Also zoomed in on Jason and the first two knocks and it does look for all the world like he does two very quick knocks then spreads his hand to lie flat against the wall.  It happens very, very fast.

At the 40 second mark, the problem is that Jay's hand is not visible; however, watch his left arm.  It does appear to move slightly to correspond to the knocks. Does anyone else notice it?

I'm assuming this is the Stanley Hotel.  Unfortunately the site doesn't give the episode when it's just an outtake. If someone recognizes which episode this is, please post.

It throws into question all we've been watching for quite some time, even pre-Collargate.

Thanks for catching this right in your face lie.I have had my doubts about their honesty but now I know that they are not truthful.I mean please he knocked on the wall right on camera and then asked Grant if he heard it? very tacky J&G..

Just curious.Does Jay say to any so called ghosts, I'm going to knock on the wall, and can you make the same sound? Don't have any idea what episode this is,unless it's Fort Delaware? I know they went wandering around in some tunnels where they caught the figure at the end which seemed to peer at them and duck back. It could have been a crew memeber maybe, or not.It might have actually been something paranormal. Trying to think of some place else but the Stanley and ForT Delaware with tunnels. I don't recall Jay and Grant going into the "Chute" at Waverly, unless it was on a live episode.

Makes you sad really when you think about how they had a good idea for a show but blew it with this nonsense. Yes, it does make you question the video evidence  they caputure and other things they do.

That's definitely the Stanley Hotel in the exterior shots; not sure which episode though.
