When the subject is having a skeptic show up on an investigation and Jason says "This is something I want to talk with Syfy on doing" you know he would be asking permission to change the format of his investigation.
Before the name change, I could see where this would definitely be something he would have to take up with SciFi…bringing a true skeptic along has serious implications and could change the format to one that was slightly less Fictional which went to the very heart of the former name :)

Do you seriously think Syfy or Pilgrim was following all this and called him? Really? I think they have better things to do.
Yep – that's why they run the forum boards, but it dosen't really matter which way the phone call went – the point is that Syfy gave him instructions on how to handle it.
If you were SyFy and you claim this is your biggest market maker, would you leave the important decisions in the hands of some plumber ?
As far as a conversation about bringing on a skeptic, creative conversations go on all the time and since he is a producer on the show, he could very well discuss this with Syfy as well as Pilgrim.
So the question becomes would SyFy think it would be a good idea or a bad idea if they added a skeptic …. and we are supposed to think GH producer Jason would NOT abide by their wishes even if TAPS investigator Jason thought it would be a good technique ?

Shouldn't change anything in their eyes…the show already has at least two hardcore skeptics on it already. In their eyes, maybe they should being in some person who just believes everything he's told…oh, wait, maybe THAT'S how Chris on GHA got chosen. Chris IS the long-haired non-female who admitted that he pretty much believes everything he's told isn't he?

Doc,
I would think that Syfy/Pilgrim would defer to the judgment of Jason, Producer or Founder of TAPS. Without Jason and his fellow TAPS members, GH would be dead in the water at the end of their contract and Syfy and Pilgrim would never be able to re-cast the show as successfully. That is where Jason holds the cards.
And, if I was that plumber (although he hasn't been for many years now and how long is still questionable), I would certainly take the advice of any legal department and especially one who was writing my paycheck. That's why there are legal departments for both Pilgrim and Syfy as I noted in a previous post when credits started to be given for their legal counsel at the end of each episode. This is what I said before. It's a worthless point discussing who releases what and who called who. That is not what is at issue here and the truth known only by the parties of the conversation. However, as I said, realistically Syfy would not have been monitoring this situation. You can bet that Jason or someone in his sphere was made aware of this very quickly and he made the initial contacts for advice. But, as I said, none of this addresses the issue at hand and until something is made public and, even then, only the issues at hand and not the peripheral factors of contact, will be addressed. Until then, this is all conjecture and discussion which is pointless.

Sure they might defer to his judgement, but they might not … which proves where the power is, and why he would need to discuss it with them.
From such simple changes as the dropping of the timestamps, we know that Jason the producer wins over Jason the investigator.
Yep, I could really see Jason saying -
" Gang, I told SyFy we're all not signing for GH and going back to being TAPS. We can't afford the houses and the office in Warwick so everything will be moved to the SPIN. Steve, you want to buy a used Yukon so you can make the drive up here from your job as drummer at Theodores ? BTW, remember you don't get paid for being in TAPS, but look at how much fun we will have … it's like "old school" again. "
.
… Jason's voice is drowned out by cellphones speed-dialing agents and lawyers ( except Steve who called Theodores ) …

I just have to remember that Sy Fy also had a movie recently called "Ice Tornadoes"…. But Sy Fy calling Jason or Pilgrim productions calling him (maybe he called Pilgrim on what he could say..), I doubt it. I also noted that Jason keeps deflecting the Grant "Collargate" incident by saying, "ask Grant". He sure doesn't want to touch that collar with a 20 foot pole since looking at it during the 2008 Live Halloween show! As an avid watcher of NCIS, I can imagine Jason as Gibbs, smacking Grant (as DiNozzo) in the back of the head, most recently, when his camera light "acted up" lol.

Let it drop folks, if and unless anything new comes out, there's not much point rehashing a rehash. Nothing has changed as a result of this and it's already same old same old.

I read Jasons response to Donna and it sounds like he had someone call Donna to then call him so it looked like he wasn't threatening her. But He must have because she sounded very final about her feelings on Taps and GH. Somehow Jason made her an offer she couldn't refuse. She was either paid off or threatened with possibilites I can't imagine. Donna was always a free spirit but after J & G saw their Gold mine in peril they set out the hounds to quash the feline. Damn its to bad in America you can't say what you mean anymore without the money interests jumping down your throat.

Oh lord….I've thought it before, but now I think it MUST be true…the TAPS family is really the TAPS "family"!
I can just see Donna kissing Jay's ring…
