Well, I just watched the "Athol House" investigation on DVD.

What I thought was rather interesting was how J&G presented as evidence an image captured on the FLIR of a head, neck and torso of something.

The problem that I have is that the head and neck area of the image has the same body heat signature as that of a human, and the torso is cooler (in fact, it cools off at a point as if the image were to be wearing a crew neck tee shirt).  Furthermore, the left arm of the image seems to be bent up at the elbow and holding something.

Jason's profile pretty much matches the image that J&G found: Nicely exposed head area and wearing a short sleeve tee shirt.  In addition, J&G, while holding the FLIR and the "clam-shell," respectively, while they were doing the sweep, matches nicely to that of the image holding something.

Either these guys, knowingly, are presenting false-positives, or they are really amateurs; trying to find anything to show that "ghosts" exist.

My vote is on the latter.

This is the Harrington House  – S03E20 – earlier thread here – http://www.skepticalviewer.com/2007/11/08/harrington-home-ma/

There is a pretty good analysis of it here – http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DAkrSPOrZMs

A couple of points the creator of the video does not bring out -

If we give the spirit a shoulder width of about 18 inches, the TV set would still have been in the shot when J pans far enough over to pick up the "picture" and torso in the chair.  I suspect Grant knows it dosen't work as we can see him attempting to recreate it with a person in the chair, yet that never makes the final cut.

A stationary camera is in the room which may have given us some info as to where J was aiming at the time, but we never see any footage from it, and Steve never mentions it during the setup  ( or more likely it was cut later ) .

Doctor,

Thanks for posting those links.

I'm pretty sure that on the DVD that I check-out from NetFlix it said Athol House, not Harrington House, but eh, at this point it's irrelevant: We both know what house we're talking about.

Anyway, I'm glad to see that someone debunked GH's shoddy work on this investigation because this episode really annoyed me: I removed all GH DVDs from my NetFlix queue.
