I just came across this when I was checking out the Taps +18 board (just to see whats going on there).  Was interesting and thought I'd post the link here.  Too bad we couldnt have had a whole list of questions to ask the GH crew Undecided  Though they probably wouldnt have wanted to answer what we skeptics would want to know.  Wink

Very interesting article.
I believe I read it once before.
However the author lost me with two statements.

1. Steve and Tango can go for hours and hours talking about nothing.
I find this hard to believe,(cynicism to be inserted here).

2. Steve is the most professional?!
That one did it for me.(Ay Caramba!)

You are correct, don't think anyone on this website will be invited to the TAPS Easter Egg Hunt.

Hey there. I'm actually the one who wrote that article (saw it was linked here in the traffic monitor — yeah, I have no life).

Yes, Steve acted the most professional of the group. This is my opinion from what I saw with how he interacted with the team and the crew, as well as what everyone had to say about him.

I was there for two nights, and yes, those two guys go on for literally hours of talking about nothing at all that has to do with the investigation. The editing team has their work cut out for them when they have to make this all fit into one hour.

Another post of mine you guys in particular might dig:

Hello and thank you for posting here.  I did enjoy the "Ride-Along" article.  Very interesting "fun facts" about how the show is made.  Most interesting was the photo of the truck that they drive with a windshield full of cameras.  Nice job.

I can't speak for everyone, but most of us were true fans of the show, at least at the begining.  Many of us have never missed a show.  So, in that regard, we are still "fans."  So  I'm not quite sure what "you guys in particular" applies to.

But, I must be honest.  I didn't overall care for the "Coat-Pull" article.  I commend you on going to the source and talking to Grant about the incident.  Very cool that you were able to get in touch with him.  However, I didn't care for how his "attack" on Formerghfan was handled.  Grant accuses him of things in order to discredit his work.  What I didn't like is that Formerghfan was given no opportunity within the article to defend himself.  It is widely known that, at the time, he had made himself available for any questions about his work.  He was forced to sign in and give his side by posting to the article.

You go on to say in the article "So, what do I believe? I really want to believe Grant, and I felt he sounded very sincere on the phone."  Perhaps so.  Yet, in the podcast episodes 13 and 14 done at this website, Formerghfan also sounds very sincere.  To show a video of his within the article and then not give him the chance to refute Grant's accusations was simply not right and not fair.

I also read this article of yours as well:

You say " I don’t think for a second that anyone connected with the show is putting the viewers on. There are maybe two cases I can recall watching where I thought maybe someone was pulling a prank on the GH team, but not a person part of the team or crew. The only reason I consider them possibilities is because the evidence caught was a bit too much to believe — hell, even the GH team attempted to debunk the evidence multiple times, on multiple occasions (Eastern State Penitentiary comes to mind)."

Perhaps…perhaps.  Whenever you have the time, you should take a gander at the "Skeptic's Library" section.  Or perhaps look at various shows within the "Archives" section.  I'm not saying that the articles will change your mind, but perhaps offer a different perspective on some "evidence" forwarded by the TAPS team.

Gudlyf,

Nice article on the ride-along. Here is some thing I found particularly interesting:

It appeared, to me, that Jason put on a little show for me. I seriously didn’t think they were going overboard with their staged setups and can only imagine they do this for every single show. So why would Jason voice his displeasure now, in front of me? Hey, if he really feels that way, good for him. But I didn’t quite buy it.

Your intuition and "spider-sense" kicked in. Something just didn't seem right. These are the same type of reactions many had to the coat-pull. There is a long list of activities and behaviors associated with the event that when taken as a whole add up to a highly-probable hoax.

I also found it interesting that Grant's only counter argument to the analysis of the collar tug was basically ad hominem.

Hee hee hee! "Get her!" That was your whole plan, huh, "get her." Very scientific.
