Hello Everyone,
First of all I would like to thank this site and forum for a chance to get this off my chest. I would like to say that in my opinion that ghosts, spirits etc. could be real. I have not really seen or heard anything in my 57 years that would lead me to believe that they are real. I have met several people that truly believe that ghosts do exist and I respect thier decisions. I live in Tennessee and grew up around many people that told me all kinds of stories when I was young and was very moved by them. As a teenager in the late 60's and 70's I would go to some places by myself or with others to check out these so called haunted sites. I have heard and seen things that I could explain simply by wind, the weight if a person on a floor or panel, light playing on objects or just your mind playing tricks on you. As I grew older I grew more skeptic and just forgot all about all of this and went on with my life.
When I heard about the TAPS team checking out certain haunted places in the states and overseas I was interested in what they would find. After watching many of thier exploits I am convinced that they are as fake as a three dollar bill and should be ashamed of fooling the people as they do. I think that just about everything they come up with is staged and set up. Now let me add that anywhere you go in a building old or new will have noise, bumps, knocks and other sounds so they may hear something sometimes.
I can sum up every episode of this series with this;
Did you hear that?
Did you see that?
What was that?
Something touched my face/arm/back/leg/or any other part of my body.
Something pushed/tripped/scratched/me followed by the person falling, jumping or showing marks on thier body.
I could go on but everyone should see where I am going with this. The infra-red cameras they use do pick up images but I think they make the images appear as the cam can pick up any lingering heat and show it as different colors on the screen. You can put your hand on a table or anything else for a few seconds and then look at the same spot with one of these cameras and it will show where your hand was because of the heat that it left there. These cameras will actually pick up reflections of a body from mirrors, windows and other reflective surfaces. The electromagnetic field detectors can pick up on any electronic disturbance such as a a/c unit starting, a fan running or anything that uses electricity. I know this because I use these devices in my line of work and I can duplicate everything they do. I saw one episode where some bed covers moves and it was clear to me that it was moved by wire or string because of the way it moved. I mean it was pulled by something not anything like it would if it was moved by a person or ghost. The recordings they make are so fake that a person without any knowledge of recording equipment can figure it out. Voices and other sounds are added by playing the original recording and adding the extra sounds on another device. Easy to do. Notice that we seldom see or hear anything that they do when they say "Did you hear that". Another thing that I noticed is many times images may come up on cam after they have taken the film and analyzed it.
I think that if they actually saw a ghost or spirit they would probably pass out in fear. I continue to watch this show just to laugh at these people and see what kind of junk they come up with next.
I am sure that many will disagree with me but thats ok. We live in a free country and are allowed to voice our opinions and this is just what I think. Its good that there are forums like this on the WWW where we can say what we think and I am thankful for it.

Well one thing I would say about the heat reflections is that FOR THE MOST PART (there are exceptions like Belcourt Castle) they do manage to catch the reflections and not pass them off. Out and out figures they seem to allow through with more frequency.
Adding in sound and combining it. Yes, I think that may be the case sometimes. There have been many cases where the sound and the wave form don't match and it's probably because the sound is either added in or it's at least amplified for playback way beyond what it originally was.
As for them being phony as a three-dollar bill; well since those do exist (legitimately) maybe it would be better to say a nineteen-dollar bill :) On the other hand maybe three-dollar bill would be more appropriate because not EVERYTHING we see out of GH is suspect, though there are some here who would disagree.

I try to take what is presented on GH with a "grain of salt". It is interesting to speculate on what was found/not found and why/why not, but I have to admit it is entertaining for a tv series/reality based. What I really enjoy is seeing the team members interact with each other, hopefully that isn't scripted by the writers or whoever. I'll keep on looking in on it but won't let missing it or seeing it dictate my social/work agenda.

I find this posting very refreshing. I have long ago decided to just enjoy GH, much in the way one enjoys ghost stories around the campfire. Nothing more, nothing less.

Even if you do happen to miss an episode, you can always get the low-down on what happened here. And it's way more entertaining and factual, too.
Comment on last nights 'church' episode. Why didn't the audio catch sounds when the girls inside the chapel (and even the viewers) could hear noises? Why did the girls instantly dismiss those noises as 'settling' (which, of course, is logical, but when has logic ever come into play in GH?) when too many times to count the same types of noises in previous episodes would have been declared as a ghost communicating? What was so different this time about thumps and groans I'd like to know….?

I do not think there is any such thing as ghosts. I feel that on the Ghost Hunter Show, they just have a script they have to follow. It is a SHOW.
I am 64 and have spent the night in a grave yard at one time. If there was ghosts, wouldn't I have seen at least one? I have NEVER been scared by anything in my life, much less by a so-called ghost. There is no such thing.

Welcome big-tex35. We welcome your viewpoint but I have one very obvious question. We are aware "It is a SHOW." Are you aware this is a SKEPTICAL site? Just curious.

Uh, no, spending one night in a graveyard is no guarantee you're going to see a ghost, so your experience of 12 hours or less is not really proof of anything. You're making some pretty strong, all inclusive, statements based upon no evidence.

Wow… well, as Dorothy Thompson said "There is nothing to fear except the persistent refusal to find out the truth, the persistent refusal to analyze the causes of happenings." But then again, Hannah Arendt said "Fear is an emotion indispensable for survival."

Drache Frau,
I actually think he was scared of one thing – this forum. He posted, got a response and he ran, never to return.
